Was fishing Flat Lake off the Diversion Canal yesterday and saw 2 different flocks of BWT along the bank just loafing/preening. Wondering if I could set up a boat blind in the lily pads and be legal? Back in the 80âs there were permanent blinds built on the lake, back when we had mallards and wigeons here.
2022 teal opener: Pearl River WMA sw of hwy 11 launch. Hiked in to the second pond and seen 2 flocks of teal. Didnât get a shot, I believe this place will be better next weekend when the hens and juvie teal get down here. Weâll see what transpires and I need more 40% deet skeeter spray, the bugs are brutal. I did here a few shots along the West Pearl at daybreak. Howâd yâall do?
Is that the same spot yâall got em last September? The mudflat video?
Great job! Iâve shot a few too this summer. I have a spot in my hayfield where I dump all the leftover oil from frying fish, chicken, fries or whatever. They stay rooting in that oil soaked dirt/mud, no corn needed. Keep smoking them swine.
We spotted a flock of blue wings this morning in Bilbo lake. Hopefully a lot more are on the way.
I was afraid of this. Come on midwestern blizzards.
Did way better than me. Nothing but 4 coots opening day but did spot a flock of teal.
Iâll be looking for all those blackjacks this Saturday. Hopefully the coots keep us interested. Good luck to all in the East zone.
Nice haul! I went bow hunting yesterday morning and only heard 3 shots. I believe yâall did better than most.
Good to hear! We just got back to the truck with two blue wings taken in Pearl River WMA this morning. We saw 6 flocks but only one flock came in range, much better than opening day.
