What a fun day yesterday was. Capt Ricky Brondum fished with Jason Steves and his crew. As per his report.....Had a crew of yankees( New York) who heard that reds fight hard. None of them fish much and had never caught a redfish. Rick got it started early. First cast, first spot and he boated his first red. Bill was right behind him for his first. Jason was being stubborn and waited a while before getting his first red also. We had all 3 of them hooked up which made a nice video. I think they will be back sooner than later. A very nice catch of redfish for this crew. Big thanks to Capt Ricky for showing these guys a great time on the DU!

Good times this week helping out Capt Tommy Pellegrin with a large group of guys. The crew caught just about every species of fish that swims on Bayou Dularge. I fished with my guys the first day catching a good mess of trout. The second day was a slower redfish bite. The crew were a blast to fish with and they enjoyed their 2 night stay at the Lakehouse l & ll. Leonard did an exceptional job keeping the crew well fed. Everyone caught their share of fish and the crew went home loaded up with fillets. Big thanks to Capt Tommy for setting the trip up as it ran smoothly. Good luck fishing.

Day 2 with Mick Okrzesik and crew was another redfish slam !! Non stop action as the reds were eating up good with the high water. Both boats finished before noon and the crew was back at the Lakehouse for lunch and watching football. Great 2 days of fishing with over 80 reds on ice! Big thanks to Capt Brady Giroir for helping me the second day with the crew.

A great weekend of fishing was enjoyed by Mick Okrzesik and crew. The crew whacked reds, trout, drum, flounder and a few bass. Big numbers of fish with reds leading the pack with over 40 fish. Big thanks to Capts Brady Giroir and Alden Bonvillain for showing the crew a great time on the DU! Dead shrimp and plastic under the 4 Horseman did the fish in!! Mick enjoyed his stay at the Lakehouse and they planning another trip soon. Good luck fishing.

Barry and Suzi Spoon from Mo. were back on the bayou! They brought some friends Linda & John who jumped all over the redfish with me. The crew easily caught 25 nice reds and had big fun doing so. Barry & Suzi enjoyed their week long stay at the Lakehouse ! Shawn Whitney made sure the crew was well fed as he provided all the delicious meals. The crawfish etouffee and fresh fried trout was a real treat ! Gonna be a great week of fishing on the DU!

October 27 at 2:04pm

Big thanks to John Pittman for sending 2 crews down to the DU to tackle the redfish and anything else that would bite. Capts Brady & Alden did a great job putting the customers on fish! Everyone caught fish as the bite was on fire! Dead shrimp under the 4 Horseman corks did in the slot reds while cracked crab called in the bull reds.

William Killen and crew from Monroe, La are down at the Lakehouse and looking to whack some reds. We fished with this crew 2 days and it was a success with both boats limiting out
with the reds. Big thanks to Capt Alden Bonvillain for helping out with the crew.
Most of the fish were caught on a falling tide beating the banks of Mechant and averaged anywhere between 18-27 inches. Nice crew to spend the days with on the water. Good luck fishing.

Monroe Howell and his brother John joined me for a nice trout slam. The trout action was not fast and furious by no means but the bite was steady enough with a fish on every 3-4 minutes. We’ll take it as we caught all nice fish in the 14-18 inch range with hardly any throw-backs. The fish were caught on a falling tide and all under a cork. Yes the trout are starting to show up in their traditional fall/winter pattern and no doubt it will just get better in the weeks to come. Good luck fishing.

The month of October is here and the Pro Drive Special is in full effect. Capt Alden and I made a quick scouting run a couple days ago. Fishing only 2 hours we filled the box with reds, drum, flounder and sheepshead. No trout in the marsh ponds yet. Need a cold front or two to get it going. The reds are plentiful and easy limits right now in the shallow water. Trout fishing will get better towards the end of October thru the rest of the year! The inland marsh is loaded with shrimp, finger mullets and small pogies. It’s about ready to explode in the backwaters of Bayou Dularge. Give us a call and we’ll hook you up! Good luck fishing!

Capt Ricky Brondum whacked the reds with his crew. The redfish bite is as good as it gets down here right now with easy limits of fish every day. Bayou Dularge is the place to be if you want to catch redfish. Trout are on the move and all it will take is one cold front to jumpstart the fall trout bite. Plenty of small trout right now as the fish are arriving more and more each day. Give us a call to hook you up with an adventure on the DU! Good luck fishing!

Mrs Suzi & Mr Barry Spoon from Missouri were back on the bayou this week and the redfish were in big trouble. They truly enjoyed their 6 night stay at the Lakehouse Lodge here on the bayou. This deadly duo really loves our fishing here in South Louisiana! I think they really come for the good food and fishing is secondary. Chef Shawn Whitney takes great care of the crew! Either way they are big fun to fish with and we really enjoy spending time on the boat with them. Most of our fish are released to fight another day although they took some home this time to share with family and friends. Capts Ricky,Brady long with myself look forward to their return trip in mid October. Trout will be on the menu as we give the reds a rest! Good luck fishing.

Enjoyed a nice morning “Down In Dularge “with John & Caroline Graham and Chris & Mary Ellen Peyton . The crew wanted to catch redfish and they came to the right place! We only had to make one stop and we beat the rain as the crew went to work on the reds . Cracked crab on the bottom in 8 ft of water did the trick. We caught 25 reds in about 2 hours and left them biting. It was a pleasure for me to fish with this crew and everyone caught their limits of fish. Good luck fishing.

Will and Haley Blanton received one of my gift certificates from his dad. I set the couple up with Capt Alden Bonvillain as I was out of town. Redfish were on the agenda and Capt A delivered. Capt A only had to make 2 stops as the reds were in a frenzy. Easy limits for this couple as it was another great day on the DU! I’m sure Will and Haley are looking forward to their next fishing adventure next month.

Bob Kerbs and crew were back on the DU for Day 2. It was another adventure catching redfish after redfish until we reached our limits. Capt Alden Bonvillain was back to help me out with the guys again as everyone caught lots of fish. The reds averaged 16-29 inches and were eating up on a slow falling tide. The crew was surprised to see such big numbers of fish caught everyday here in lower Dularge. The bite was as good as it gets! Good luck fishing.

Great time on the water as I fished with Mike Epler and crew. We found the reds stacked up just like the previous day and they ate up like piranhas. Cracked crab on the bottom had the reds in a frenzy. Easy limits once again as we left the fish biting. The crew enjoyed their 2 night stay at the Lakehouse Lodge as it was a real pleasure fishing with these guys. The guys went home loaded up with fillets and they’ll be back soon for another bayou adventure. Good luck fishing.

Day 1 with Mike Epler and crew turned out just as we hoped it would be. They caught hungry redfish cast after cast with Capt Brady Giroir until they reached their limit. A slow falling tide had the bronzebacks eating up like no tomorrow. No shortage of redfish here on Bayou Dularge! This great action will continue through the end of October. The crew had a blast and were all pumped up for Day 2. No place like the DU! Good luck fishing.

A beautiful morning in the marsh. Big fun in the Pro Drive with Dr. Bo Grafton and Gary Krouse. Bright orange reds today in the clear water. We caught the reds on a variety of baits. Started off the morning catching 5-6 reds and a big flounder on dead shrimp under a 4 Horseman cork. We switched over to gold spoons and hum dinger spinner baits to finish off our limits. The marsh ponds are loaded with bait and hungry reds. Big fun on the little boat with Bo and Gary. Good luck fishing.

Got a call from David Naul who wanted to put his kids on some fish. I told him the reds were biting good and I hooked him up with Capt Ricky as I was already booked. Mission accomplished as the kids had a blast reeling in hungry redfish. Sure were some excited young boys as they’ll remember this trip for a long time. Memories that will last forever !! Good luck fishing.

Bob Kerbs and crew were back on the bayou as they had fished with me back in 2015 as it had been too long. The guys were eager to get back on the reds and they got what they came for on Day 1 of their trip. Big thanks to Capt Alden for helping out with the crew. Easy limits of reds as the fish cooperated for us. The reds were eating up on a slow falling tide. Cracked crab on the carolina rig in 10 ft of water did the trick.Fun crew to fish with for sure! Good luck fishing.

Yes guys she is one tough lady and we thank you for the good thoughts and prayers. It's been a challenge both mentally and physically for Jean to overcome this horrible disease. Chris and I are truly amazed at her spirit and strength in fighting this cancer . We are truly blessed to have her back in the boat again, driving her car again, playing in the flower beds again and doing things that we all take for granted. No more wheel chairs and walkers for her!! I am truly blessed to be able to go to work again doing what I love and yes God is great!! Miracles do happen as I feel we witnessed one first hand!

No live bait Tony! Only use plastic, chick on a chain wedge tails and LSU Bayou Chubs. Cajun pepper working good too.

Plenty of small fish on the inside but you will have to move off the coast for larger fish and much greater numbers.

Trout have been in Decade since mid October! Weather conditions dictate when you can catch them or not. The trout can be finicky in Decade as they are either 'on' or 'off'. You gotta go to know!! If you launch at Jugs at end of road you can catch all the trout you want in Bayou Seveur right now! It's on fire!!
