Spec Dog is real. I did not beleive him when he posted that red fish pic with #13 on its tail. Heck I caught a red that was a true LSU fan in Leeville. I was using a purple and gold plastic minnow. Bet there will be more marked fish caught and posted soon. I even took a Sharpie Marker to try and write on a fish after wiping it off with a towel and it would not mark. Try it your self.
Ascension Marine Good or Bad?
Anyone have any feedback on new outboard motors and the service they receive from this dealer. Please reply.
D&M Block Shop located in Raceland La. Any one ever used these guys for big block rebuilds? Considering these guys for a big block outboard rebuild. Any comments are welcome. Please post good or bad experiences. These guys advertise in the LA. Sportsman.
Thanks.
Question, 200-250HP 4-stroke 25â shaft. Some one with hands on experience. What is the most durable and best performing outboard on the market for a 22-24â bay boat. Do not need a rocket. Where could some one find a decent used motor with low hours in LA or MS?
Thanks.
Worst Marina Delacroix LA. How about this place. Went for a fisrt visit and LAST VISIT to Delacroix. Launched @ Serignes Landing. Here is the story. Not enough page here.
1. Bought Crockers and live shrimp. Told the bald headed gobber at the counter thanks and he looked at us like we were from Mars, no reply. Have a nice keep alive bait wells. One for shrimp and the other for crockers. 30% of all bait was dead in 30 min.
2.Purchased $30.00 of fuel at the dock. The pump stopped @ $15.00. Nicely asked for them to restart the pump to get the other $15.00. Went back in the store twice to explain that we only had half the gas we paid for.Would not listen and told us we had pumped twice. Crappy gas motor broke. Think the gas pump hose leaks gas in the water also.
3. Ramp too steep. Heavy boats with tandem trailers W/Out 4X4 would have trouble getting the boats out. Crappy launch pad!! One Truck in the fell in the water. Slippery ramp.
Hey guys a good friend of mine needs a power trim for his 200 HP Mariner, think it is a 2000 year model. He drove to the coast this past weekend and had to cancel his trip due to the broke power trim. What a bummer. He lives in Walker LA. Any help would be great please e-mail if you can help him out.
Thanks
Have trip scheduled for 29-30 May-09. Bridge Side and Sand Dollar I hear has live bait. Does any one know what time these guys open and close. I hear there will be a rodeo going on that weekend also. How early should I be at the bait shops to have a change of getting the live bait?
Thanks
I know there is a landing at the HYW 11 bride North Shore on the west side of the highway. Is there another landing close by? If so, is it open to the public.
Thanks
Have 97' 225 Ocean Pro Evinrude. Hard to start at first. Have tried uisng the choke and with out. Once started in the AM it will start easly all day fishing. Rungs great. Clean new fuel, new water/fuel seperator new plugs Champion QL78YZ, gapped @ .030". Is there aother brand spark plug that would help. Would the gap on the champion plugs make a difference. Any tips??
Thanks
Had the grandparents and yougsters fishing this weeked. Tried to get out of those howling winds. Went in a dead end canal and was trying to let the kids catch something with no luck to be had. Then a couple of big blow belly meat heads pull up in a beatau and ran us off. They claim to have half the Leeville marsh posted. Heck if there was a sign or something to indicate that we were trespassing I would have not even went there. Any body ever have this problem, or is this common in the Leeville area?
Have a fimily trip scheduled first weekend in April. kids and 70-80 year old grand parents. Any helpful tips for a new saltwater angler. Will stay at Boudreauxs motel. Fishing in bay boat. Thanks in advance for any tips posted.
How about you "white bean", are you going to make it.
Bosshogg
Watch his shows
Will be at @ GI Friday, Saturday and Sunady. Been reading your posts. Hope I can catch a mess and I will try some of your tips on topwater. Think we may be able to get some grilling size reds in Camanadia pass? Any red tips?
Thanks a bunch.

How simple of a request for this guy. You stated that these in-laws are very very inexperienced. Here is the deal. Get a couple of pounds of market shrimp fish the deeper holes Carolina rigged. Every time they pull up a hard head start clapping and brag on how nice the fish is. When you get back to the landing give them the box of fish. You will be the hero.
Bob, White Beans and I will probally see you down there this weekend. Thanks for the post, we really enjoy you shows.
Iron Man or Fliesitdies who really catches the fish?
I know that you guys hammer the reds. Heck yall must be in on the game if you guys are ready to fish with the pros in the tournaments. Every fishing pair usually has one that really smokes the other. Now who is it?????
Fliesitdies I have been reading your reports for a while. I am not bashing you son. A matter of fact I admire you. You are quite the sportsman. I probably could learn some fishing tips from you my self. Many kids out there are lazy punks that have no interest in the great out doors that we here on the sportsman enjoy. If there were more out there like you who take to the woods and waters how nice that would be. The 15 year old Mississippi kid took some bad hits for his choice of words. By posting on the sportsman that Mississippi boy is headed in the right direction as long as his ears, tongue and nose donât have jewelry hanging out of them and his pants donât hang below his butt. He is probably a good kid. We should give him some credit for reading the sportsman and not playing video games 24-7. Fliesitdies where are the reds stacked up right now?
Those that say Bob can not fish are wrong. I have seen him catch some nice catfish on his live minnows from Terrys bait shop.
Heck, fliesitdies has posted for help and recived a boat, outboard, free guide fishing trips and who knows what else. Bet he could give you some tips. He is good. Good luck on the free piece of hunting ground. That will be a tough one.
jramagos05 or Hawk Hunter. These guys will exterminate anything. Like EF Hutton, Hogs run when they hear their name. If not, post for Hawk-Hunter Help. He is an imported Yankee that can hang with all of the red neck southern boys. Where can he pick up a RCA sticker??? May have to modify it to say imported Yankee RCA.
I have read some customer complaints on Cajun outboards. I hear they have wrote quotes and customers come back from the bank with a check and these guys added on a few extra thousand. These guys were pissed and posted about it on brand X site. Hear that they do have a good mechanic on staff. Thanks for you reply. Any one else???
Bigjim. Yep, that sure is the most popular quide motor. Thanks for your help.
Sniper.
Great to see you on the Sportsman. Look forward to seeing you in Leevile. Always a great help and good company.
OK Black Death Spec. I will respect the webmasters request to Chill Out and back off before I get kicked off this site like Old Caster and others did. If you keep bashing me, I may post your next charter date and location in Delacroix. The local Delacroix people that you have been dogging out may just want to come over there and meet you! I will not tell them that you are an imported Texician and that you catch all of their big Louisiana trout every trip that you go on. Time for you to Chill Out yourself!
I know that all of the good sportsman out there report on their fishing and hunting trips. It is nice that we can post our reports here on the Sportsman. If we have a good experience we report, if we receive poor service from a Marina, guide, sporting goods store lets post it. This is not the first post on poor service. The bad ones and their friends make the customer sound like the bad guys. Keep
posting.
Not asking anyone to kiss my butt for service. With a 1.5 day trip we spent well over $200.00 for live bait launch fees and ice. That includes the $15.00 they cheated us out of. Do not think that we would have received a thanks ater we thanked them for their services. Do not even care. Being nice does not coast anything. NOLA fisher, sounds like you have been there also. Pepole at Brenton Sound Marina are nice. Never been to Campos.
Capt. like you that play on the internet. Others like Capt. Earnie are too busy to play. They are fishing and cleaning fish and getting ready for the next trip. Ones who play only play and not fish. Who really catches the fish with the pictures that you post on the internet?
What would just the boat like that cost with out the trailer?
Wow, trout fish, Bow Fish, Bow Hunt Deer. May you got it going on!! Do it while you can and enjoy those youngsters. What a true sportsman family. Enjoy
Had the pleasure of meeting justwant2fish and his family. Whitebeans and I have talked about this guy for a while. This guy and his wife should have their own fishing show. They sure know the Leeville area and can put the specks in the box. I have learned plenty from justwant2fish and thanked him for it. He should change his user name to Sureknowhow2fish. Hope to meet up again.
T-Bark Scale is that Multi-purpose fish finding tool ole Bob uses. First Teddy finds the fish. Second when Bob flips the fish over the gunnels is when his T-Bark-Scale is activated. When itâs a red fish Teddy barks once for every ten pounds of fish weight. When itâs a trout Teddy barks once for each pound of fish weight. I think Teddy has been off this summer due to the extreme temperatures. He may be a little rusty. Teresa may need to re-calibrate Bobs T-Bark Scale. From the looks of the photos and estimated weights posted, Teddy appears to be off a bark or two. I have actually been fishing close to Bob on several occasions and have witnessed the show lil Ted puts on. Quite an act. Capt. Bob probably has more fishing experience than most all of the people on this site. How many inshore charter captains will help you like Bob will? He will tell U, what, when, where and why. And if U show him a little respect and talk nice he will even let U follow him to his fishing spots. He also will give U local weather warnings, LDW&F regulations and boating safety tips. And the cost is Free. Who can top Bobs Act? Nobody!! He is one of a kind!!!! Capt. Bob keep my Pirate Ship parking spot reserved next to the 24â Pathfinder. The Pirate Ship will be headed to Leeville soon. PSC
