I looking for some fishing information on Kincaid Reservoir (Lake) just west of Alex. I see there are two boat ramps, one is East and one is West. Which is the best. Also what is the best area to fish to avoid boat traffic? Any help is appreciated. Are there any Bass to be caught there? Thanks

Time to replace the TM batteries. I launched @ Driftwood and they left me @ the Chicken Coop. I would like your input as to what is the best. I run 2 twelve volt in tied together and run everything off them, trolling motor, cranking, and all accessories like live wells, lights, and so on. Thanks for your input.

A Buddy was telling me about an area on Toledo Bend called the Wasp Nest. Can anyone tell me where it's at?

I read in BASS several years ago how to remove melted skitrs off of spinnerbait blades but don't remember what is said. Does anyone have any suggestions? My tackle has been setting up for a while and I've got too many to replace or throw away. Any help would be appreciated.

A comment titled: Wire Selection in response to a report titled: trolling motor wiring help

If you are going to change and upsize your wire, before buying marine grade cable, go to walmart and purchase a 20' pair of heavy duty jumper cables. It should be #4, you can cut the ends and solder on the ends you want and have twice the power you once had. I actually used a plumbers tape to pull mine through my Skeeter. Just by upgrading my wire size it doubled the performance of my trolling motor.

Fishing Hole
If you want to fish for bass and catch so many that your thumb is sore then may I suggest you take LA 19 North just north of Zachary to Yardley St. Take a right and go to the end of the road. There is a 20+ acre pond that is managed for trophy bass. You have to call before going but the fishing is spectacular. No fish kills and the water is beautiful. Call 225-938-4647 The owners are Dickie and Darlene Pendergist. You won't be disappointed.

Guys, do you recall last year when all the theft was going on around Toledo Bend? I was concerned because I had a trip planned. I looked for an alarm system and found a DRIVEWAY WIRELESS ALERT SYSTEM at Harbor Freight Tools. (Item number 93068) I Velcro it out of sight on my transom and it works on an infrared system which covers 40 degrees and 30 feet out. The receiver is placed in the camp or cabin up to 400 feet away. It’s got a volume control on it that will wake you if anyone or thing gets within 30 foot of your boat. It normally cost about $25.00 and you can catch it on sale for about $19.00 from time to time.

Thanks for the quick response! Looking at Google Earth, looks like the southwest tip would be the best place to start. What's your thoughts? And thanks again!

A comment titled: Boat Trailer Problem in response to a report titled: boat trailer prob

Is the web site for Champian Trailers in Slidell, LA. I've been a boat owner for over 30 years and I've had them all, I have a skeeter and it came with a painted trailer, it didn't last 5 years. I contacted Champian in Slidell and had one custom fitted for my boat. Ten years now and have not had to do a thing but grease the hubs. Never even changed a bulb. It still is just like new, tires and all. I live in Lafayette and fish the Bend several times a year, fish the Gibson area, the Dularge area and no problems. You can order either galvanized or alum. Nothing better on the market. Check out the web site and give them a call, quit dealing with those :stampped steel" trailers. My next boat, if it won't fit on my current trailer, I will have it delivered to Champion to be fitted.

I went Saturday. Using crickets / worms / artrificial. Only caught 2 perch. Talked to half a dozen or so folks, only 1 or 2 for them too. Bad day on the lake, left at 11:30, I'll try it again in a couple of weeks.

Evolution Marine, both in Houma and Morgan City. Best service I've ever seen. I live in Lafayette and believe me, it's worth my trip.

Guys, you are looking at this all wrong............ The LOBI is April 2-4. You will have +- 700 gun toting, hard Oilfield working Coonasses (no disrespect intended) up there for the best part of that week. "I pitty the fool", Hey 1215, can you share that link for that motion sensor you bought. I had a motion detector installed. It won't work if your boat sleeps in the water at inght,,,,,,,,,,, good fishing to all!

CaptJS, You are no doubt a good fisherman, but my friend, you are a better gardener. How do you get such a green and fantastic looking in the middle of winter? I know we live in South Louisiana, but my lawn is brown and dead this time of year.

Lunker, just switched mine out. I have a 35# Motorguide hand control I'll sell you for $100. It works ok, but it only works on high. That is the only speed I ever used. Had it on a 16' Skeeter and it worked good.
