I have a 2007 Honda rancher, that runs fine, but when I stop and let it idle, it kills and back fires when I try to start it again.
I ran a tank of mid grade ethanol free gas through it and it ran great, when I filled it up again I put regular ethanol gas in it and the problems started.
Could it be the grade of gas or is there something else that could be causing the problem. The bike is fuel injected, could it be injector?

Feb. 8, 2013 -- The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) adopted notices of intent for the 2013-15 hunting seasons and the 2013-14 Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) General Rules and Regulations at their Feb. 7 meeting.

The notices of intent include proposed hunting season dates and changes from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) for the upcoming fall hunting seasons and provide for a public comment period.

Some of the proposed changes include:

•Alterations in deer areas and seasons to include a new Area 4, Area 9 and Area 10, plus re-aligned Areas 1, 6 and 7.
•Standardized crawfish limits on all Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) allowing up to 100 lbs/person/day.
•Feral hog, experimental trapping, from May 1 to Aug. 31, by permit only on Boeuf, Clear Creek, Jackson-Bienville, Manchac, Pearl River, Red River, Sherburne, Thistlethwaite, Three Rivers and West Bay WMAs; permits to be available at regional LDWF field offices.
•Elbow Slough WMA: proposed lottery-only hunts for Mourning Dove on opening weekend of 1st split.
•Pearl River WMA: proposed return to deer season framework and length utilized pre-Hurricane Katrina.
•Maurepas Swamp WMA: proposed reduction in deer hunting days from 42 days to 28 days to be consistent with proposed New Area 9 season.
•Salvador/Timken WMA: proposed Experimental Night-time Activity Season; plus deer hunting to be allowed after 12 noon.
•Thistlethwaite WMA: proposed 10-year Experimental Quality Deer Management Season to include ending current experimental season and adopting new experimental season with altered season structure.
•Kisatchie National Forest: proposed addition of a Youth Deer Hunt and still hunting only for all deer hunting.
•Primitive Gear: proposed addition of single shot, breech loading shotguns, 10-gauge or smaller, having an exposed hammer, loaded with buckshot or rifled slug.
To view the full notices of intent and all proposed hunting season dates and regulations changes for the upcoming hunting season and a presentation on recommended deer season changes for 2013-15, with area maps, please visit

Public comment will be accepted at LWFC monthly meetings from March through May and/or can be submitted in writing by mail to: Steve Smith, LDWF Wildlife Division, P.O. Box 98000, Baton Rouge, LA 70898-9000, or via email to until 4:30 p.m., May 2, 2013.

notice that most of the areas in these proposals will be losing hunting days,
Wildlife and fisheries are goona cause more people to start hunting in other states.
The deer on most WMA's die of old age, because of the short hunting season, now they want to cut more days from some WMA's.

I just looked at the proposed Either sex days for the 2013-14 season, the either sex days are just about every weekend, so why even bother with either sex days. Just leave the tagging system in place. I have all of my tags and all of my sons tags, we didn't fill any of them this year, not because there were no deer, but because they stayed on their night time patterns. I had hundreds of pictures at night mostly of Does.

NOTICE: Ben’s Creek W.M.A. Lease Will Not Be Renewed
The property that comprises Ben’s Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) will no longer be part of the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries’ WMA program as of June 30, 2012. Beginning July 1,2012, Weyerhaeuser Corporation will once again manage the property.

Guess the state is to broke to keep the WMAs going.

Took my son and some friends fishing last week, we were catching a few trout when my son's reel started peeling out line, I thought he hooked a big red, but after 20 or 25mins we saw what he hooked into. He had a nice Jack Cravell on 17lb test.

To those who post a add then sell their item, please go back and remove your ad or at least mark it as sold.
It is such a waste of time for everyone looking at the ads then to find out the item has been sold.

There were some deer hunters trying to catch their dogs in lacombe around Little Dixie Ranch rd on Saturday. If any of you guys read this send me a e-mail. Also just to let you know the dogs were running a nice 8pt. I watched the deer run around the yard behind me and then through my yard and into the horse pasture.

I have a 2001 Yamaha 115. I added a fuel water filter and when I went to start the motor after pumping the ball, the battery died. I put a new battery in the boat and the motor still won't start. When I turn the key all I hear is a click. The battery has a full charge and all the connections are tight. I checked the fuses and all were good. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

I am looking at a rangefinder, I want one for bow and gun hunting. Which is the better one out there for both bow and gun hunting? I looked at the Bushnell Scout with ARC also the Nikon with TB (true Balistics)
What other range finders have the technology to show the true yardage if shooting up or down hill?

Someone has to know something about these things.

A comment titled: Lincense in response to a report titled: LA recreational fishermen's butts hurt

So because your to cheap to kick up the money to buy a lifetime lincense, you want those of us who had the brain power to understand that if I pay the $500.00 bucks now and for the next 20, 30 ,40 years I am not going to have to deal with increases, going every year to get a new lincese and what ever else.
But now that the state has raised the lincese fees on saltwater licenses, you want to get butt hurt?
Louisiana has about the cheapest license fees in the country, ppl want to complain about the condition of fish and game, but don't want to pay for improvements.
I don't like the fact that the extra money is only going to study one type of fisheries and that GCCA is going to be getting that money.

A comment titled: From wild life and fisheries site in response to a report titled: Boat Registration Question

Boat (eff. 8/2009); Outboard Motors (eff. 5/2011)
A title DOES NOT replace registration but is in addition to a registration.
A title provides ownership, and is required to secure ownership interest when a boat or outboard motor is financed.
The following completed documents are required to obtain a title:
1) Title application form
2) Bill of Sale or invoice (or Tax Certification Form R1331)
3) Original (MSO) Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (new boat)
The following fees apply:
1) Title Only - $26
2) Title with 1 Lien - $36 – $10 for each additional lien (secure & release at time of application)
4) Duplicate Title $23
If titled, the title MUST be surrendered at the time of registration and a new title issued. If title is held by a lien-holder, it must be surrendered and a new title issued.
Titles issued for boats already registered are required to pay a duplicate registration fee of $8 to get a corrected registration certificate. An affidavit for duplicate registration is not required for this purpose.
Boats must be registered to operate in state waters. See boat registration application form #55 for instructions.
Notarized documentation demonstrating chain of ownership to the applicant must be submitted with all applications.

A comment titled: Boat titles in response to a report titled: Boat Registration Question

From what I understand, is that if the boat was registered in louisiana, you didn't need a title on it, but if it is new or coming from another state you have to get a title for the boat.
But it has been a few years since i put a boat in my name.
It wouldnt suprise me if the state wants every boat to have a title, so they can make money off of issuing the titles.

Wildlife and fiseries web site should be able to tell you exactly what you need,

A comment titled: Changes in response to a report titled: Hunting season changes in the wind

Have any of you read the proposed changes on Wild life and fisheries web site? The changes are for ONLY a few areas, which is bull in my opinion. Make the rules apply state wide if they want either sex days again. It seems to me that everytime they change the rules those of us hunting in the southern part of the state get the shaft.
I hunt in area 1 and out of 28 members in the club one Doe was killed this past season, I have 60 to 70 pictures a night on my trail cam, 90% of them Does.
I am guessing the state is doing what they do best and changing the rules to make a group of their friends happy, they want to blame poor deer reporting on the change, which they are either saying we are outlaws or to dumb to report our kills. Did wild life and fisheries look at this year as being a bad season? I have heard from people all over the area and they say the samething, it has been a bad season. the deer stayed on their night time patterns, there was no real cold weather and all kinds of other factors that made an off season.

A comment titled: Maurepas Swamp Diversion Project in response to a report titled: 11,145 acres added to Maurepas Swamp WMA

I hunted the southern end of that swamp till it became a WMA, then hunted the same swamp around Garyville till we lost the lease to the state.
There has been a fresh water diversion project planned to run trough the swamp between Garyville and Hwy 641 since hurricane Katrina, the project kept getting put on hold because of levee work in other areas or the core needed the money else where. They couldn't decide if the diversion canal was going to run along hwy 641 on what was all ready state land, then they wanted to run it through the grayville drainage canal. The last I heard was they were looking at running the diversion canal along hwy 641 again.
It really dosen't matter where they run the canal, but they do need to get the project done. That swamp is dying and dying fast, the salt water from the lake is killing the trees and plants.
I doubt a fresh water diversion will cause any flooding because at times of high water they can close the diversion or control the amout of water flowing through it. Now if something isn't done we will see flooding in some places like st.john parish get worse.

A comment titled: jerks in response to a report titled: Too many Fishing Charters

there are jerks on both sides, guides and recs alike. Game wardens are different, they should show some respect and the ones who don't we should be reporting. I have had to deal with both, had 2 game wardens all most run over my trawl a few years ago, then the jerks wanted me to just stop, net in the water pulling against a falling tide and he wants me to kill my motor. Then after checking everything in the boat he all most runs my net over again.
The good we got stopped in Pearl river wma last year, there was a guy who didn't have his wma permit with us. After explaining that we were hunting privet land that morning and we just figured everyone had all the required stuff to be on the wma,he gave my friend a ticket, but was very nice and didn't have an attitude like the last ones I had to deal with.

A comment titled: septic tank in response to a report titled: 55 gallon drum septic tank

option #2 is about half way up the plastic drum drill 1/4' holes all the wat around the drum, drill lots of holes, dig the hole deep and alot wider than the drum. Pour about 6' of gravel in the bottom of the hole, set your drum in the center and fill the rest of the hole with gravel.
You can use either a bulk head fitting or a toilet flange to connect the piping from you pen to the top of the drum.
If you use the flange make sure to either bolt it or screw it to the drum.

I have see it done both ways, I did mine like the first post, with the field bed pipe and gravel. I had between 4 and 18 rabbit dogs in mine for years.

February 21, 2011 at 2:27pm
A comment titled: drum in response to a report titled: 55 gallon drum septic tank

you will need a plastic 55 gal. drum, 2 bulk head fittings, some gravel, and the PVC pipe with holes in it.

There are 2 ways you can make it, the first is to dig a deep hole and trench where you want it, cut a hole in the side of the drum close to the top, install the bulk head fitting, connect the PVC drain pipe and lay it in the trench. line the bottom of the trench with a layer of gravel then cover the pipe with more gravel. Lay some plastic sheeting over the gravel and cover with dirt.
Install the second bulk head fitting in the top of the drum( you can also use a toilet flange here) connect your drain line from you pen to the bulk head fitting.

I use a coffee can and a roll of toilet paper with rubbing alcohol in the can. buy the John Wayne toilet paper, stuff it in the can, pour enefough alcohol in the can to just cover the paper. light. I keep a small block of wood in my stand to put it out, just cover the can for a little bit and the fire will go out, place the lid back on the can, top off alcohol the next time you use it.
