Just wanted to send a shout out to Captain Ricky Brondum.
My two buddies and I were having boat trouble not too far from the dock on Sunday, and he came to check on us, but we told him we were ok.
A little while later he came back and offered us a free fishing trip since our boat was acting up and his clients had to cancel.
To make a long story short, he turned our crappy day into a great day. We caught a nice mess of fish, had some good laughs, and went home with smiles on our faces after what looked like it was gonna be a horrible day.
Thanks again Capt!!
Just a little friendly advice for all those businesses that post 15 classified ads in a row: ALL THAT DOES IS ANNOY PEOPLE AND MAKE THEM SCROLL THROUGH YOUR ADS FASTER....just sayin'
Is it just my computer or is this website having technical difficulties? I keep getting some wierd pop up in the bottom of my screen when i'm on here but not any other web pages. Also, i can't see the headers on any of the posts.....
Just looking around at some scopes and have a question about the reticle. What is the difference between Plex, #4, and BRH? Also, are the Swarovski scopes really worth all that money? I have a 15 year old Pentax 3.5 x 10 Lightseeker that i have loved over the years, but i am thinking about upgrading. Any thoughts???
Cant seem to line up the lugs on my bolt so i can put it back into my rifle. I've had this problem before but cant remember what i did to solve it. Any ideas to relieve this aggeravation would be greatly appreciated.
Looking for some opinions from some of you who have successfully managed your property over time. I have around 200 acres leased which is pretty much all hardwood and thicket. Between scouting cameras and time in the stand, it seems as if the bucks outnumber the does by an extremely large margin. We have seen 6 or 7 spikes, 4 or 5 six points and 2 very nice 8 pts (along with a few other bucks that had some disfigured racks). This is great, but we have only seen 3 or 4 does. Is this normal? I would hate to shoot some smaller bucks, but i'm wondering if i need to in order to balance out the herd. I'm also wondering if these bucks will leave the property during the rut because of the lack of does......Anybody else run across this situation?
water patrol and coast guard are actively searching for a man who left yesterday afternoon from the launch in dulac just north of four point marina. his truck and trailor are still at the launch, and he is nowhere to be found. If anybody fishes this area today please look out for a 14' aluminum hull stranded somewhere..........
I know that a charter captain cannot enter the STAR tournament, but what about a former charter captain? Do you have to hold an actual license to be considered a 'captain'?.........just curious, any input would be appreciated.
I was just thinking that a link to "watch" a certain post would be nice. Sometimes i post a comment with a question and it may take several days to get a reply (which is no problem). A link like this would enable people to easily check back on previous posts that they are interested in without looking through several days of stuff. On the other hand mabey you do have something like this and i just haven't seen it.......Mabey you could add a "Watching" section on our profile page or something........just a thought
can someone tell me what is a good price to get a bull red mounted? i took measurements and pictures...........some one told me $16 an inch, but that sounds way too expensive to me.............any input would be great
I have a 1999 sea doo spx. My problem is when I'm at full throttle the engine slows down then speeds up, slows down and speeds up. It will keep on doing this untill I let go the throttle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ps...i have already cleaned fuel filter and put new spark plugs
anybody use fishweather.com? if so i was wondering about the fish index ratings......i always thought that the higher the rating the better the chance of fish biting, but sometimes it doesnt' make sense when u take things like the tide and moon into consideration.......any thoughts?
diamond back water snake
everybody's opinion of safe vs. dangerous is different, but just two short weeks ago a man who was fishing from the rocks on the other side of the island ended up as a missing person...
booo hooo....always cryin' about somethin'
we have been catching them pretty consistently in that area too...
the main problem for us has been pressure....always a thousand boats around there
what is what?
hmmm...maybe crabs?
i'm not much of a freshwater fisherman, but i hear Toledo Bend is a great place
well i guess this advice would depend on your boat, but i would recommend getting into areas with deeper water where the current is usually stronger on a normal day....that could either be in a pass (between bay and gulf) or at the first sets of rigs just off the coast somewhere as there is usually at least some moving water in those areas. if u must stay inland, then hopefully there will be some wind and u can fish points where the wind will cause some water/bait to move around the point creating an 'ambush' situation for the trout/redfish....
I use a bubba blade, and I love it for redfish and sheepshead. I would not recommend it for trout though since it is kinda thick...
i'll take that off ur hands for ya....
i can't bellyeeve the size of that thing.......sorry i couldn't resist ;)
been a couple years since i talked to him, but Fred Hanzy did some good work for me in houma....not sure if he would go down there, but it's worth a try. 985-647-44nine3
nice one
i'm not much of a hog hunter, but if i were you i would look up the wma's in LA and contact them for information. (wildlife n fisheries website should have that info)
i'm not sure trying to contact a land owner is the best route to take simply because of liabilities and what not...but who knows, u might find someone with a hog problem who will let u come mow them down.
congrats dude....that has to feel good
wow that's a beast...
awesome...good job!
na, that's just a doe that put on her high heals for the rut...
Capt. Rob Chauvin could take u out of Cocodrie.....504-253-0493
