Killed on hunting lease near Port Gibson, Ms. No fences, no bait allowed on property!
I shoot the Winchester 150 grain E-tips as well. The rifle is a Tikka T3 Hunter. I've been very happy with it. It does a lot of damage at close range, but it is perfect for long range. I killed a doe at about 400 yds this season. She only ran about 10 yds and fell over.
I don't think they are very common. But, they must not be too rare either. I've been watching one on our lease in Alabama all Deer season. I see her almost every weekend. They are pretty birds though.
Thank you, I killed him with my Tikka 300WSM. I was hunting over a creek bottom where about 3 or 4 ridges converge. Our property is very hilly. He was across on the next ridge when I shot him. Maybe 80 yards or so. It was just after 8 in the morning on December 30th. My taxidermist scored him for me. His green score came out to 150 2/8' gross.
