A comment titled: Browning Maxus in response to a report titled: Browning Maxus

I am a duck hunting guide and have always used Brownings. Bought a Maxus the day before opening weekend and love it. Shoots great and easy swing with light recoil. can get on other birds quickly. Easy breakdown and cleaning. It's all about how you take care of your equipement.

I like the picture in the middle that shows the distance from the box stand to where the deer fell dead along with the angle of the trajectory and the bullet hole i don't see, leads me to believe the gun is a double barrell-boudin bustin-interchangeable 7 mag/45-70,that is laser scoped with a side cd burner. i think he pulled the 7 mag trigger instead of the 45/70. BTW that model gun has 2 triggers, I know because i have the same one.

Are the birds roosting? Is there a large concentration? Have some friends coming in from out of town next week who would like to go. Bird watchers, they can do there thing while I try some fishing.

Not that I am taking up for them, but you have to remember that some of these posts are coming from children, trying to compete with grown men. We as sportsmen/adults are supposed to be setting an example. If you don't like what you read - comment, but keep it clean- why try to belittle someone or pick a fight? I'm here to try and learn how and where to hunt/fish and maybe share some of my success and failures.

Hunted Saturday 12/30 in all the rain north of Welsh, La.
Killed 4 and should have had my limit. Waited on some teal to make another pass but they kept going. Shot into a flock of 25 or so teal and only dropped one. Had 2 mottles, 1 teal and 1 scaup. Have not hunted since. Will be out there tomorrow. Good Luck

TP.. I have hunted at Bin There for seven years. David will not give you anything false. Ducks are slow in the area. I hunted Monday in the fog and killed six - 2 teal, 1 pintail, 1 hen mallard and 2 gray's. yesterday I had 1 spoonie, 1 pintail and 2 specks. I was very encouraged with the amount of pintails I saw. I also saw alot of birds landing on another farm in the area. Looks like some are down, just haven't found us yet. The upcoming weather will only help. We hunt rice field pit blinds. We can accomadate your dad. We have alot of ederly hunters. We can bring him all the way to the blind on a 4 wheeler. Give David a call - I think you will be satisfied.
