Bad duck weather but Great Duck Hunting in the Caernarvon/Delacroix area. As most people would say, I did everything wrong today. Late second split, I hunted out of my boat blind in the middle of big water with 6 dz decoys, 3 mojos, and called like mad. We had ZERO wind and low water getting lower. None of that matters if you have ducks!! 3 of us had 2 grays and 16 teal! Lots of pintails down, got some lookers but no takers. All had big long sprigs. Big ducks were not so interested because of the lack of wind but tomorrow will be a different story. Our marsh remains full of ducks. Going back in the morning!

Had a great hunt this morning in Caernarvon/Delacroix area!! Hunting partner didn't wake up until I called him from the dock. He made it to the launch in 30 mins. Set up on a big body of water, right in the middle. No island or land around us at all. 2 mojos and 4 dozen decoys, lots of calling (completely different from what you are supposed to do towards the end of the season). Grays came in with wing tips touching, flights of 10-30 at a time. Finished with 8 grays and 4 teal in 30 mins. Lots of birds in the area.

A comment titled: State Claimed in response to a report titled: teal hunt

Be careful. Just because it is state claimed doesnt mean you can hunt it. The entire area around Lake Lery/Delacroix is privately owned and most is already leased out for duck hunting. State Claimed doesnt not mean public land. The only public land to hunt in the St Bernard area is Biloxi WMA.

A comment titled: Why SW LA doesnt post on here..... in response to a report titled: Info for southwest louisiana

SW LA doesnt post on this site or the other one because they dont like to read about all the fish we catch over here. Every time I have fished over there, 10+, I have heard every excuse as to why we didnt catch fish. Yes they may catch an 8 pounder more often, but it isnt worth all the slow days. I would much rather catch 100-150 2-5lb trout all day long!! It is tru that some guides over here brag about how many they catch and they are all 12 inches long, however, there are many guys on here that focus on big trout run laps around SWLA!!
