Grand theft at Wildlife and Fisheries. Eric Newman and his new wife are the main culprits. The wife could plead ignorance? More than likely former fisheries director, Randy Pausina, is toast.

Didn't have time to get guns to high enough ground. Some have wooden stocks. Any suggestions??
Anyone with a good steak recipe for cooking inside? Way too frigging hot to BBQ. Thanks
The specks were definitely in Lost Lake which is in the lower Dularge area. We fished for about an hour and a half and caught 30 beautiful trout on plastic under a cork. Good eating and all I wanted to clean.
Where have you hunted out-of-state, what was it like and maybe post a few pictures from the hunt. I noticed the system now lets you post pictures with your comments. I'm just trying to get a feel for some other states to hunt and what it's like. I've hunted La. and MS and I'm just thinking of taking a few adventures.
Hats off to the Louisiana Sportsman TV crew. The last two shows were off the chart. Maybe one of the best outdoor shows in the U.S. Go to the front page and click on either the video link or the show on the front page. An incredible tuna show this week and a Big Lake wade fishing show last week that was on fire!
Those are some beautiful specks man. Congrats!!
Beautiful animal. Now that's earning your buck, long walk in and longer drag out. Thank goodness you had a good friend to help out! CONGRATS!!!!
Awesome story. Congrats!!!
Congrats!!
I think $250 is not a terribly high amount of money to pay for a lease for how many acres? That's the point. If the parish put out official maps of their land that you were paying to lease it might be worth it. Its ridiculous to pay for a lease without a map showing WHAT YOU ARE LEASING. Then the majority of this crap would be settled. Also, guide services should not be allowed to operate at all period on parish owned land if they lease to individuals.
Next, let's encourage the state to issue permits for the amount of hunters allowed on any certain day on the WMA's with surface drive engines, unless it's a paddle area only. Look around, pretty much every state that has these sort of issues (too many hunters running all the wildlife off with excessive pressure.) Lotteries, draws, or first come, first serve programs are very successful.
My two cents.
That is a nice haul. What part of the lake did you catch them? What type of bait, how deep, etc. I'm headed there soon. Would love to get a few more tips. Not looking for specific spots, just a little more info. Thanks!
Great news! Any chance you would share just a lil more detail? On the beaches, back side of the islands, over oyster reefs, etc. Again, thanks for the great trout report!
Thanks. Think I'll try doing this myself. Always went to a processor, real expensive.
Nice buck, any chance the buck was rutting?
Glad you enjoyed your trip!
Regardless of the score, a super nice set of horns. Congrats!! I would guess the 130's. Interested to see what it taped out at.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing the 'duck blind' with everyone.
Sweet eats!
Nice ones man! What brand on lure was the Sexy dawn? How about a picture of the lure? Nothing like a topwater bite!!!!!!!!
Great report. Thanks!!! Glad to hear it's on.
Hmm...to start, the old bridge that leads on to the island is huge and extremely well lit up. On a weekend night there are hundreds of people catching fish throughout the night, especially last weekend!
There is another public pier that is very well lighted on the back side of the island. I've been there, but for the life of me right now, I can't remember the name of the street. Check the grand isle tourist commission site. Oops I just saw valvguy1's post...I think he's right about Smith lane? He's right the water is not the best there but the small white trout can often be caught to keep most kids happy.
Also, I like to fish the lighted pier at Sand Dollar marina. Probably not supposed to fish there at night? We do and have never had a problem. My buddy went a few times last week and caught his limit. The fish did not turn on until 2.30am though.
Next I would say for you to stay at Ricky's motel. It's not the best, but there are excellent cooking and hanging out facilities there and a terrific lighted fishing pier.
Next I would say to get a small boat (I know of folks that use a kayak), cruise the back side of the island, and fish the numerous lighted private piers. Just be respectful and don't fish the piers where the owners are fishing at the time - they have put a lot of work into building the pier and especially do not attempt to get on any private pier at night!
Good luck!
I admire those two guys. They were very cool under fire. I haven't ever seen such stupidity.
Good one. Congrats Tommy!
No clue. Will look at it today.
Thanks for the update Cap. Much appreciated!
