OK, what is the limit on a arrow, How far would you shoot. What would be ethical. I'm a Hunters Ed. and Bowhunters Ed. instructor and I get these questions all the time. Even though shoot my target out to 55 yards, I won't shoot past 40.
OK folks, I need your ideas, or your club rules. It seems every year, I have guys that do plenty and some that do nothing. How do you handle work days. I know that not everyone has the same days off or works the same shifts. So give me you thoughts.

Hey folk's I need a little info on deer lease prices. Anyone have a lease through SOTERRA paper co., if so how much are you paying per ac. We have one in St Helena and this comming year it will be about 11.50 an ac.
We also took a pounding with the snow, we lost tons of trees and they have covered all our trails. Need some feedback. Thanks

No, I have shoulder problems and it has no effect
Sorry, i wasn't very clear. Three finger thumb style release. Started using one 4 years ago, make a big difference. If your in the market for a release, check these out.
Three finger, hook to the string and your ready to go when the time is right.
Rifle calibers are like women, there's a ton of them out there, some better than others. Find one you like and stick with it.
Wrong color for a Panther
Make sure when you mount your scope, you do so at the highest power setting. If you can't get it adjusted for eye relief, then your going to have issues.
First, get rid of the corn where your stand is. You say your pictures are in the dark, but what time. You may be able to move your corn in the opposite direction far enough to have them pass through your stand site in daylight hours. I never use corn, but if I was going to, it would be in a location where I could hunt the deer passing through my stand area, going to or from the bait site.
Great Deer, Congrats
The full moon in Dec. will start it, which is early this year, Dec. 5th
Buck Forage Oats, will grow great.
Barnes TTSX...Accurate and deadly
Hey Jim save some for the rest of us, Congrats. a couple of does and an 8 pt for me , no complaints
Switch to Barnes TSX or TTSX and end all your problems. A little high priced but worth every penny. Good Luck
You know I was tempted not to comment on this subject. I have been very outspoken on this subject in the past and very much opposed to bait. You can read a really good study done in South Carolina by Charles Ruth on this subject. None of the guy's I know, hunting in La. or Miss. have any big bucks on the wall they shot over bait. They have a lot of nice photo's of bucks eating bait, but no bucks. Will it work some places, some times, I'm sure even a blind squirrel can find a nut every now and then. I think its our way of life these days, everything quick with as little work as possible. The things my father taught me as a young hunter are not known or passed on by a lot of hunters. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking anyone for the way they hunt, they just don't understand anything different. Good Luck and Good Hunting
I am using the reds, but ran into a problem. The chart shows the 250's were the right arrow for my setup( Creed Bow 60# 28in arrow), but they would not stabilize my 100gain Slick Trick heads. Switched to the 350's and no problem out to 40 yards( Didn't try any further) This is a heavy arrow 9.1 grains per inch, but I prefer a heavy arrow.
A skilled Hunter will harvest deer, year after year. A lucky Hunter, every now and then. However if you hunt where you see tons of deer a day, then your success rate will be much higher than the guy who see very few deer. The old saying is I'd rather be Lucky than Good, but I disagree.
I do say, You can never judge a hunt or the hunter by looking at a mounted deer, just enjoy the deer. Good luck and Good Hunting
The number of deer we may have on any given property has to do with habitat, water, food, cover any given property can only hold so many animal's. Taking doe's will help make that number consist of more bucks. the more that number get's to 1 to 1 the more pronounced the rut will become. Genetic's is the main factor in great antler size, sure if you let a buck get to 5 he will be better than a 2 year old, but only genetics will make him trophy class and if that buck breeds at 2 years old or 5 he still is passing on those genetics. If we harvest doe's and let bucks walk, we can get the best out of our property. Most propertys have a ratio of 1 buck to 4 does, this means the bucks can sit back eat whatever some people put out and breed all they want in private. If guys could sit home and have all they wanted to eat, and women would keep coming to your front door, you would never leave home, No One Would See You, same applys here. This is not rocket science. Good Luck
I learned along time ago, you can never look at a deer and judge the hunt or the hunter, just enjoy the animal and man thats some animal. Congrats
Made the mistake of hunting it 15 years ago. It was the week before primitive weapons. I would have seen less people if I would have hung my stand in Walmarts parking lot
