Made a trip to my roadside home and connected on several flounder and redfish. No trout just yet. Did get lucky enough to land this doormat of a flounder. 27inches long. I'm guessing between 8 and 9 lbs. she was full of eggs and had 5 croakers in her gut

Made 6 trips to the spillway over the last few weeks. Wasnt great but was putting fish in the boat. Today my wife and I filled the yeti with 100 nice slabs. Was a great trip. Most I talked to didnt fair to well.

August 11, 2013 at 4:04pm

Brought my little brother-inlaw fishing today. All I can say is wow. Number 50 hit the yeti cooler at 640am. All fish caught bon matrix shads. 50 trout 3 flounders 2 bluecats and 1 bass. See yall out there tomorrow.

This is my dads trout he caught May 15th in PAC. 6lbs 4oz. Fish was just shy of 25 3/4 and had nearly 15in of girth. Picture does not do the fish or the craftsmanship any justice. Buddy of mine laid down an awesome job. best trout mount I ever seen. Dads biggest trout to date. Waiting for my 7lb 1oz trout to be done now.

Will be getting back in town thursday from the beach. I will be heading down to delacroix friday to fish. The tides don't seem great but will target the trout first than sight fish the reds. I may be needing a partner if anyones interested. My wifes working and my usual fishing buddy is walking in a wedding.

Slow day on the job!!! Figure I pass time and get prepared for my Tuesday trip to Delacroix out of Sweetwater Marina!!! Maybe I'll see one of you all out there. Im going to be the guy looking lost in an 18ft cc xpress(tan colored) with the 90 yamaha

June 29, 2013 at 2:46pm

Fished out of Sweetwater Marina today for the 1st time ever. My buddy wanted reds but I snuck to plan B on him early and we ended the day with 50 trout 7 reds and 1 flounder. All fish were caught on matrix shads on a 3/8 ounce jig head. Several colors produced but shrimp creole was the poison.

Again a huge thanks to Capt Jack for taking the time to chat with me last night and give some tips. Will be back next week for sure. Give these guys a try. First class in my book.

June 28, 2013 at 2:26pm

I have a buddy wanting to catch some reds. I never specifically went out to target redfish but its what he wants. Where can I go to get him on some good action. I also have some tags I need to use for ldwf tagging program.

June 27, 2013 at 4:39pm

Looking for a bigger trolling motor. I have a new minn kota 12v that just isnt big enough for my xpress cc. Does anyone know where I could find something say 24v 80lbs of thrust at a decent price. Also willing to trade in my current motor to bring down the cost. Thanks fellas

June 24, 2013 at 9:03pm

Well me and the wife changed gears a bit and went try our luck down in gods country aka cocodrie. We had a blast today limited out by 830am and played the release game till 11. Got on an awesome bite atthe first and only stop 14-18in trout all day. Live shrimp drop shot and carolina rigged tkos.

June 12, 2013 at 1:20pm

Been nearly 2 weeks since I been but they are stikl there. Kept 25 trout and 1 flounder. Released over 30 trout including a 26in and this 27in girl. Felt they would serve me better by living another day. She was spawned out but would have been nice to catch her a couple of days earlier

June 05, 2013 at 3:10pm

Getting back home sunday and looking to go fish monday. Im thinking about trying out of dockside. Trestles and hwy 11. Looking for a partner. Someone who knows the lake better than me and maybe can show me a few things. I have a 18 foot xpress cc with a 90 yamaha. My treat in exchange for your guidance.

May 30, 2013 at 9:35pm

Well it wasn't a grand slam but a solid ground rule double. Solo trip today. Cousin and his father in law followed me out there but did their own thing. Ended the day with 18 average trout 12 12 to 17 1/2 inches. Caught free lining croakers ablnd pogies. Only caught 3 on the mirrodine. Now taking a 2 week break.

May 23, 2013 at 1:26pm

Well hit the banks again today with my buddy JLS and ended up with 55 trout caught on croakers under a popping cork. JLS couldn't believe his eyes. He was catching his own trout. No fake pictures here. But then I woke up and realizer jls was not on this trip just me and 2 buddies off my softball team. Still a good trip though

May 21, 2013 at 3:39pm

JLS where is your rigolet report? Im anxious to see how you done. Give some of those tips that you picked up over these last couple years

May 19, 2013 at 5:22pm

Made a trip today with my dad. Fishing was on then off then on again. But when they turned on I managed to stick 4 good trout in my book. Biggest went 6.34 then a 5.11 then a 4.73 and a 4.13. We ended with 33 fish total by 10am at to leave so I can get home to watch mt girls while the wife went to work

May 17, 2013 at 2:06pm

Would like to fish lake Pontchartrain with some one to learn some of the ins and outs or the dos and donts. I am willing to split the trip cost or we can take my boat and you pay nothing. Havent fished it since I was a young preteen and even that was by Seabrook. Thanks for any info ot help

May 15, 2013 at 10:34pm

Well headed to PAC when I got off work. Got there at 845. Little tide and not much bait around. Left at 1030 with 16 trout. I caught 6 on a yellow top pup and the other 10 on a pogie colored mirrodine. Not a bad day but not a great say.

May 15, 2013 at 1:37pm

Well it was another unbelievable day down at PAC. North easr winds 8-10, temps in the 50s. Didnt affect a thing. Greenish clear water and hard falling tide. Filled the ice chest up then helped and few struggling friends from the area fill their quote. Unreal action on top pups and mirrodines. Easily caught 200 fish todat off the bank and thats no joke

May 13, 2013 at 1:52pm

18 trout off the bank. All on top water mirror lures. 1 flounder on a tko shrimp. 1 snagged croaker. 3 days of fishing of the bank 40 plus 50 plud 18 = 108 nice speckle trout.

P.s. funny what you can catch when you get off the computer and actually go fish go figure.

I would suggest if it is out of the two I would go with the .308. Has a lower recoil and is a great deer caliber. If it is an option I would strongly suggest the 7mm-08. I have killed 3 deer this year with my 7mm-08 and none took another step. 2 were around 150 yards and the farthest was a 180lb 10pt that was just a touch under 250 yards. Love my 7mm-08

A comment titled: History in response to a report titled: Hoop net theif in blind river / Maurepas management

I am very aware of the history. A few hunting clubs lost their land to the WMA. Outsiders came in and shot everything they seen, but this was also done by many locals. LPG managed their land for many years just to see ppl from outside their club one im a ruin it all.

It's not WMA fault, outsiders, or locals fault for the way things are these days. Life as we knew it is over. Nobody respects anybody anymore and will take what the want In a blink of an eye. I had my boat broke into and stole every rod I had and electronics. 3 mins from the cop station I might add. Again it was some local trash that did it.

A comment titled: Unclear in response to a report titled: Hoop net theif in blind river / Maurepas management

May have came out wrong or you just didn't comprehend. I am not calling the locals trash. The people doing the stealing are locals. Which in turn makes them trash. I am a local I love right here in gramercy born and raised. What I promise you is that there is no out of towners going down blind river mid week this time of year with a drag hook looking for nets. It's a local and probably another hoop net runner. Again not calling you local trash just the locals doing the stealing and they know who they are.

A comment titled: Not the problem in response to a report titled: Hoop net theif in blind river / Maurepas management

It has always been a public waterway. It being WMA land now has nothing to do with it. There's no out of towners running hoopnets during the week. It's local trash that's doing the stealing. Don't blame this on the WMA when its local trash doing the stealing

To me I read 1 person booked the 25th and is wanting walk ons to cut the cost. Not many ppl taking guided trips are solo anglers. Most are through work or family. Not everyone is willing to fish with complete strangers along with their family on board.

Don't think hes begging. Just trying to bring down the cost.

I have 2 shimano chronarchs and ill tell you its the best baitcaster I ever put in my hands. I have the revos for bass and the chronarchs are much superior.

I regiliously fish Falcon Coastal rods. Jusr my preference. They have a good action tip and strong enough for big trout and 30in plus reds

I have a 6 year old president anf some 4 year trions. All still work likr out the box.

After use run them under the hose or shower then hit em with some oil or reel butter abd they'll last many years.

I try to do this on all ny setups but do forget sometimes with no problem. Just take care of em and youll get your money out of em

Tried a few spots and got on them pretty good around 10am. Akl fish were caught bank fishing and on top water. Skitter walk in the trout color. Wish I would have stopped there first I bet the top water bite would have been crazy good at first light.

Anyways heres a pick of some of the the catch gave 7 I believe to an older couple in my neighborhood. They never want to accept more for whatever reason.

Cabelas should have had them both.

But I know for a fact walmarts carry both as I bought 2 of each from there.

I fished grand isle yesterday and I really like the qauntum kinetic but its 100 bucks. The pfluger president is really nice for 50 or 60

I agree with you reckless operation is common these days. But having a safety coarse isnt a bad thing. I think everyone should have it. Go take it yourself i bet you learn something. It cant hurt to have it but only help.

The issue of the OP was he was unhappy about a guy getting in to close. I commented my opinion on that issue not your run in with him. I see no wrong with fishing close as long as they come in correct. I waive ppl in all the time. Just ask the 4 boats at Sweetwater marina that I waived in friday and Saturday. Im okay with ppl fishing close. I enjoy fishing and really enjoy putting ppl on fish. Thats why I stated my opinion on the distance.

As far as learning to fish. Maybe he knows and thats why he went there. I learned alot on my own about fishing but still learned areas and things from others before and for you to claim that you never were shown a hot spot or area or read about a spot and went try is just as ignorant as the guy speeding by you in the boat.

Its only fish. If done right there is enough for everyone. Ill continue to have my opinion and respect yours. But shall we ever cross paths on the water and happen to drift to close please do not fire baby cannon balls at me I have a wife and 2 kids at home that would love to have me around.
