Made a trip to my roadside home and connected on several flounder and redfish. No trout just yet. Did get lucky enough to land this doormat of a flounder. 27inches long. I'm guessing between 8 and 9 lbs. she was full of eggs and had 5 croakers in her gut
Made 6 trips to the spillway over the last few weeks. Wasnt great but was putting fish in the boat. Today my wife and I filled the yeti with 100 nice slabs. Was a great trip. Most I talked to didnt fair to well.
Brought my little brother-inlaw fishing today. All I can say is wow. Number 50 hit the yeti cooler at 640am. All fish caught bon matrix shads. 50 trout 3 flounders 2 bluecats and 1 bass. See yall out there tomorrow.
This is my dads trout he caught May 15th in PAC. 6lbs 4oz. Fish was just shy of 25 3/4 and had nearly 15in of girth. Picture does not do the fish or the craftsmanship any justice. Buddy of mine laid down an awesome job. best trout mount I ever seen. Dads biggest trout to date. Waiting for my 7lb 1oz trout to be done now.
Will be getting back in town thursday from the beach. I will be heading down to delacroix friday to fish. The tides don't seem great but will target the trout first than sight fish the reds. I may be needing a partner if anyones interested. My wifes working and my usual fishing buddy is walking in a wedding.
Slow day on the job!!! Figure I pass time and get prepared for my Tuesday trip to Delacroix out of Sweetwater Marina!!! Maybe I'll see one of you all out there. Im going to be the guy looking lost in an 18ft cc xpress(tan colored) with the 90 yamaha
Fished out of Sweetwater Marina today for the 1st time ever. My buddy wanted reds but I snuck to plan B on him early and we ended the day with 50 trout 7 reds and 1 flounder. All fish were caught on matrix shads on a 3/8 ounce jig head. Several colors produced but shrimp creole was the poison.
Again a huge thanks to Capt Jack for taking the time to chat with me last night and give some tips. Will be back next week for sure. Give these guys a try. First class in my book.
I have a buddy wanting to catch some reds. I never specifically went out to target redfish but its what he wants. Where can I go to get him on some good action. I also have some tags I need to use for ldwf tagging program.
Looking for a bigger trolling motor. I have a new minn kota 12v that just isnt big enough for my xpress cc. Does anyone know where I could find something say 24v 80lbs of thrust at a decent price. Also willing to trade in my current motor to bring down the cost. Thanks fellas
Well me and the wife changed gears a bit and went try our luck down in gods country aka cocodrie. We had a blast today limited out by 830am and played the release game till 11. Got on an awesome bite atthe first and only stop 14-18in trout all day. Live shrimp drop shot and carolina rigged tkos.
Been nearly 2 weeks since I been but they are stikl there. Kept 25 trout and 1 flounder. Released over 30 trout including a 26in and this 27in girl. Felt they would serve me better by living another day. She was spawned out but would have been nice to catch her a couple of days earlier
Getting back home sunday and looking to go fish monday. Im thinking about trying out of dockside. Trestles and hwy 11. Looking for a partner. Someone who knows the lake better than me and maybe can show me a few things. I have a 18 foot xpress cc with a 90 yamaha. My treat in exchange for your guidance.
Well it wasn't a grand slam but a solid ground rule double. Solo trip today. Cousin and his father in law followed me out there but did their own thing. Ended the day with 18 average trout 12 12 to 17 1/2 inches. Caught free lining croakers ablnd pogies. Only caught 3 on the mirrodine. Now taking a 2 week break.
Well hit the banks again today with my buddy JLS and ended up with 55 trout caught on croakers under a popping cork. JLS couldn't believe his eyes. He was catching his own trout. No fake pictures here. But then I woke up and realizer jls was not on this trip just me and 2 buddies off my softball team. Still a good trip though
JLS where is your rigolet report? Im anxious to see how you done. Give some of those tips that you picked up over these last couple years
Made a trip today with my dad. Fishing was on then off then on again. But when they turned on I managed to stick 4 good trout in my book. Biggest went 6.34 then a 5.11 then a 4.73 and a 4.13. We ended with 33 fish total by 10am at to leave so I can get home to watch mt girls while the wife went to work
Would like to fish lake Pontchartrain with some one to learn some of the ins and outs or the dos and donts. I am willing to split the trip cost or we can take my boat and you pay nothing. Havent fished it since I was a young preteen and even that was by Seabrook. Thanks for any info ot help
Well headed to PAC when I got off work. Got there at 845. Little tide and not much bait around. Left at 1030 with 16 trout. I caught 6 on a yellow top pup and the other 10 on a pogie colored mirrodine. Not a bad day but not a great say.
Well it was another unbelievable day down at PAC. North easr winds 8-10, temps in the 50s. Didnt affect a thing. Greenish clear water and hard falling tide. Filled the ice chest up then helped and few struggling friends from the area fill their quote. Unreal action on top pups and mirrodines. Easily caught 200 fish todat off the bank and thats no joke
18 trout off the bank. All on top water mirror lures. 1 flounder on a tko shrimp. 1 snagged croaker. 3 days of fishing of the bank 40 plus 50 plud 18 = 108 nice speckle trout.
P.s. funny what you can catch when you get off the computer and actually go fish go figure.
