Looks like this bobcat was trying to ambush something.
I'm trying to figure out charging times for a deep cycle battery with a solar charger. I'm using a Red Hot Momma deep cycle 12 volt battery with an 800 watt power inverter. Right now my barn has 3 lights, and it's only using 60 watts between the 3 lights. I want to add more light bulbs, maybe have a total of 10 lights that are using around 250 watts. I have a 5 watt solar charger that is constantly hooked up to the battery.
My question is if my battery is fully charged right now and I have 10 light bulbs using a total of 250 watts, how long can I use the lights tonight and will my battery be fully recharged by tomorrow night by using this 5 watt charger? Or do I need a larger charger?
I've been told there is a solar power battery charger for cuddebacks. I have been to their website and have googled it without finding anything. Does any one have information on this? thanks, Craig
I was wondering if there was a tire regulation on WMA's and Federal management areas on trucks? I have heard that there is one for ATV's but couldn't find anything on that or Vehicles.
The family and I are going to go camping at Indian Creek in the next 2 weeks(if spots are available) and I was wondering how to fish the lake. It will be me, the wife and my 3 young kids. No boat, just fishing from the bank. We don't care what kind of fish but would like to catch some. I may be able to bring a canoe if it will be the only way we catch fish, but would rather not pack it. Is it an easy lake to use crickets or worms to catch bream and catfish? Maybe some shiners for sacalait? Or should I just bring plenty of food and adult beverages to enjoy the place? Thanks for the input. Craig
I was wondering if anyone knew when the Mississippi River was going to drop? I'd like to fish Lake Mary and some other lakes around that area. Right now, the river in Natchez is at 40.5 feet and won't crest until 4/05. When does it normally get and stay around 30ft? Thanks, Craig
I recently had some dirt work done at my house and would like to plant some grass to grow. It's not great dirt, more like clay. What would be a good grass to grow? Its probably a little less than an acre, with a good bit of sun. I was thinking rye grass. What kind of fertilizer should I use? Thanks, Craig
Got me some cabelas gift cards burning a hole in my pocket and want to buy a set of real nice cold weather hunting gear. I'm interested in bibs and a jacket. Must be waterproof. I would like to hunt in temps in the teens and possibly only have a small layer of clothes under this and be comfortable. I've looked at the under armour and wool products. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about these products? Or any other brand that I haven't mentioned?
I have an old shed at the end of my driveway that seems to be right in the path of the watershed. Is there something I can put on the ground around the outside of the shed to keep the water from coming in? The water comes in from the front and sides and drains out the back of the shed. Any barrier I can put up or am I just SOL? Thanks Craig
Me and 6 or 7 guys are interested in doing a paid hunt in Texas this year. We are looking for a quantity not quality hunt. We aren't looking to kill huge deer. Maybe a management buck. We would like to kill hogs, javelina, does, predators and turkey. Not necessarily all. Bottom line is we like to shoot and have a good time. Does anyone have any recomedations or websites of places they know of? Thanks for the help, Craig
I have a 3.5 acre pond at my camp that we stocked with 4000 coppernose bream, 7000+ fat head minnows and 600 bass. We put in the bream and minnows about 8 months before the bass. All were fingerlings. This was 3 years ago. We used to catch some bass while fishing for bream on worms, crickets and some sacalait jigs. I don't think we have caught a bass in over a year. We have a bunch of frogs on the pond and never see bass breaking the water trying to eat anything. What would cause all the bass to die? Should I restock with larger bass? If so, how many and what size? Thanks Craig
If my 3 ton AC is pulling between 9000 and 15,000 watts starting up, and about 5000 watts running. How much will the starting and running watts lower if I used a 5-2-1 compressor saver? Thanks for the help. Craig
Got 2 quick questions about cooking a cochon de lait.
1- Does it matter what kind of wire I use to hold him in? Does it matter if its galvanized?
2- The pig will be about 70lbs. I'm assuming this will take around 8 hours. Am I close?
I took my oldest son on his first duck hunt. Clayton's 4 1/2. Hunted Friday afternoon, Sat morning and evening and Sunday morning. We had a blast. I think we ended up with 4 ringnecks, a couple of woodducks and a greenhead but it was fun. I realized 4 hunts in a row is too much for a kid his age. We would a been better off hunting 1 afternoon then the next morning but he managed to get through it. I probably shot 2 boxes of shells. He was having fun blowing the duck call thinking he was bringing them in on a string. Earlier in the year I took him on his first deer hunt, we had four does come out and he talked me into shooting one. When I shot the doe, she was the only one to run and the rest stayed looking around. He was telling me to shoot the others. But I managed to let them walk. Now he wants to go hunting every weekend. I can't wait till he can shoot a gun. I'll get him a 22 next year and let him practice shooting.
I was wondering if anyone has used Ivomec for their dogs. I have heard to give the dog 1/10cc per 10lbs. This would be 1/2cc for 50lbs. Can you give this to your dog if he is positive for heartworms or should they be clear of all worms before you start? I got the injectable ivomec but was told you could put the dose over their food. Any imput on this subject? Thanks Craig
I would like some comments on a boat. I have a 17 foot fiberglass boat that was given to me. I think I'm gonna try to turn it in to a duck boat. The motor is garbage so I will need to replace it. I don't want to spend much money on this being that I can find aluminum duck boats for $2500 with motor. My question is will a go-devil type motor be sufficient on this boat? I'm not sure of the weight or how low it sits in the water. I will only be using this boat in a small canal near my house and a lake about 300 acres. The main reason I'm thinking go-devil type motor is b/c I won't need to go fast and I think I can pick one up for around $1000 as opposed to an outboard. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks Craig
I just inherited an old fiberglass boat I think its 17-18 ft long. The motor is a 70hp thats on its last leg. If possible, I would like to make this a duck boat. Right now its white. I would like to paint it camo. Is there a special paint I should use, or do anything to the boat to make the paint stick? Also, what is the smallest motor I could use on this boat? Thanks for the comments. Craig
