this was my best season EVER!each one of my kids killed their first deer, and two even got their first buck. it was amazing seeing them go from frustration when the deer just would not offer a good shot, to pure excitement when it all came together. they learned many lessons on tracking, scent controll, hunting different phases of the season and waiting for the right shot. we are already looking forward to next season, they are in competition with each other now as to who will get the biggest buck. my daughter got it this year with a 200lb 8pt, my youngest son shot a 135lb 8pt. good times!
kids are out of school for the summer, thinking of taking them to the rigolets tomorrow, catch a few fish. any one catching specs/reds around there? appreciate any info, thanks
My son shot this last night while bow fishing in a small slough behind our house in St Amant. I THINK its a Pike? I have fished and hunted here all my life, and never even heard of someone catching one before. At first, i thought it may have been an un-wanted aquarium pet. If it is a pike, its a baby and mom cant be far. Has any body seen one of these before soo far south?
Went on our first bowfishing trip out of Port Sulphur. We had a blast! 3 of the 4 people never bowfished before, we missed plenty fish learning how to aim, still limited out in 2.5 hours.
the rut is getting close for my lease in Livingston. I have been getting many pictures of deer all season long,99% does with a few spikes until the last couple days. finally got some nice bucks showing up. only found one active scrape line though. the first buck looks like he's pushing 200lbs
Caught 17 this morning in verette, including this nice one. Not sure what it weighed, couldn't find my scale. I'd say around 5. There is a green tint to the top portion of the lake, algae bloom i guess. Off the water at 11 am. Too hot!
this is an awesome buck for livingston parish....don't think i have seen many bigger from this parish. im guessing hes 18 inside, 4.5 yrs old and pushing 180lbs?
new lease, still trying to figure them out. definently don't have a shortage of coons...
I am looking for some information regarding engine trouble with my 1997 evinrude ocean pro 150. It is a direct injected two stroke. I bought the boat last year from an older gentleman who owned it since day one, boat and motor were I'm immaculate condition, only had been sitting up for quite a while. Brought the boat to a local mechanic and asked him to give it a good going over. Changed the plugs, a new power pack, a new fuel pump and gauge and it was given a clean bill of health. Now, it will start but won't idle AT FIRST. I pump the bulb till tight, choke it and it will crank up in on te second turn but will not idle, it runs for a second and immediately idles down to a berry low rpm and sputters out and dies. Each time I crank it up, it will run a little longer, until it will finally idle good enough to put it in gear and actually motor up. Once it is running, it runs beautifully! Plenty power and acelletates smoothly, and will idle perfectly once it is shut down. I fish for even 20 minutes.... And it's back to same routine to crank the motor and get it to run. This is putting serious strain on the battery and pissing me off greatly. Oh, I have ZERO experience with outboard mechanics. Any ideas? Thanks and I appreciate it

fished delacroix for the first time this morning. put in at sweetwater marina, cpt jack and his staff were more than helpfull. it was nice to meet an owner who still took time to ask me how my trip was, and pointed out to me on the map exactly where to find the fish on our next trip. not just walk by me on his way to his truck. as it was my first trip to the area, i was leary to go further than grand lake. we did not catch much to speak of, but we will deff be back to sweetwater marina to try it again! that kind of southern hospitality gets my business every time!
i am fishing delacroix this saturday and i have never been there. i am putting in at sweetwater marina. i need info on where to find specs and reds. i appreciate any info i can get. thanks
taking a 7 day trip to caney lake at the end of may, we have never been there before and we are staying at the jimmy davise state park. we are bringing our kids and i am looking for info on a close boat launch and info on baits and patterns. maybe stump and weed beds the kids can throw some top water or spinner baits. any onfo will help. thanks
I am trying to find the name of the boat launch in point au Chene where you can fish the sulphur mine. It's been years since I was there last and I need an address for my gps. I appreciate any help

I am looking for any information on a 2003 ray-craft v-210 with a 200 Suzuki. I have the option to buy it, but i don't know much about either. Some quick looking on the net shows that ray craft was only made through 2004.'it was built in Texas and I am not sure how much of the boat is wood. The Suzuki is a 2001 model and I can hardly find any complaints on them. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

can't figure out how to rotate pics...
how well does it take night pictures? does it use a flash?
this one showed up 3 days ago. I have him on three separate cameras. all at night
I lease this land by myself, it's in Albany, off of Pea Ridge rd. This is my second year with this lease, i had two real nice bucks last year as well. But they are very cautious! Hardly never catch them in the day light. Very hard to hunt. Sooner or later, they will slip up! Stay out too late or early chasing them women!!
I don't know what's more amazing.. how every alligator has it's own name and 20 year legend behind it, or how the idiot commentator can recognize it as 'the one'.also got real tired of seeing three different rifles on every kill. each gator they shoot starts out with an old rusted marlin, then mid-struggle, it's a stainless ruger and then they finally, they shoot it with a lever action 22mag.all in the same kill. guess the producers figure we can't tell the difference.
i hope ya'll have something NEW for next season. the show is getting stale. i missed the last 4 or 5 episodes this season, and i don't mind. i loved the show in the beginning, but i am less motivated to watch these days. don't really care for the new hunters. not sure what can be done to make things more interesting, but it needs something
i am thinking of heading to leeville this saturday. don't see many reports from this area lately. are there any fish showing up around lake jesse or south lake? anybody catching trout/red's within decent driving range from bobby lynn's? i would appreciate any info. thanks!

has both eyes reflecting, every pic of him, only the right eye. it doesnt seem to be missing, may be something internal. ill call him one-eye. thanks
