Nice beaver there I caught on in a 330 the other day weighed in at 45 to 50 pounds. I caught a coyote last night.
Nice catches there looks like you need a bigger pig trap there. I usually start trapping in November and end when the trapping season is over with except for pigs we trap them year-round.
As bad as duck hunting has gotten in the marsh, I gave it up for now. Seems like you have to have a good lease in a productive area or money to pay someone to bring you. I have been concentrating on trapping and deer hunting for now.
Mandevillian have you hunted the march much this year? Last year I trapped 12 beavers that was fun to do as well...
That was lucky that you found your net there. I know I keep the trout heads for my friend to use in his nets they seem to work the best of all but if the crabs are running real good we cannot let the nets sit for long or they will eat the heads up quick even having them clipped on the net good.
Good you are catching some crabs there. Just wondering why are you letting them soak for that long if you are doing that? When I have run traps with a friend we may let them soak for a very short time and run them but keep running them like the whole time we have them in the water without much waiting. We are running about 30 nets.
I will be calling you can count on that for sure these government officials are crazy....
I am not even worried about the fees I bought my lifetime license years ago but they can take registering small paddle craft and shove it. They are just out for a money grab when they want you to put a number on a pirogue or a kayak or canoe. That is if I am reading this bill right.

Mandevillian I would like to report to you that while running my trap line today above Amite I jumped a nice flock of beautiful Mallards out of a secluded pond by the river it was great to see them and some nice wood ducks as well. see what a little cold weather can do lol
