What is some good deer feed that the HOGs will not eat first. I'm tired of putting out corn and the hogs eat it before the deer.

December 22, 2019 at 2:27am

Does anyone know the e-mail address to the agents that we can contact about taking away the killing does any time of the year. I work overseas and don't get to hunt much. Now that they took this away. My chances off getting a deer has dropped. I know no matter what I say will change anything but if lots more people e-mail and we flood the office with e-mails supporting bring it back. Maybe we can get it changed back.

Does any one know if they're going to close dog hunting on State land this year with the high water.

Looks like there is more and more of this bashing on the Classifieds section than anything else. Fedup can you please find something else to complain about. Those of us that doesn’t care what is for sale just pass by and keep on looking, some people buy many things on here. If you don’t want to see all the things on this site than find another site to go and cry about. You’re the first to start complaining about things like this. Now I’m looking through the classifieds section and I’m reading all types of fighting about you complaining, can we please just get on with it and enough is enough.

I have a question about state land. I have just moved my floating camp down the bayou in Morgan City on some state land. There is some good deer hunting there. I have heard guys talking about baiting it. After reading some of the post, i'm under the impression that you cannot bait on state land or is it just WMA.

These is some frogs that my 6 yr old caught all by himself. The smallest 1 is the one he caught with his hand, with no help from me, the biggest one he caught with the net, also no help from me. He loves to frog hunt. A PROUD DAD

Well Albino Bucks if you don't know how to tell the difference between the 2 before you spear it, you shouldn't be out there. Also you must be a girl, because real men catch frogs with their hands or net and don't spear them, so if you do make a mistake, it is just catch and release.

My 11 year old son catches with his hands.

Just my 2 cents,

A comment titled: E-mail i got back Mr. Scott in response to a report titled: Doe Season

Steve, I am not sure where you hunt but, but due to numerous factors such as a steady decline in the reported harvest, forest management practices, increasing hog numbers, several years of droughts, and other landscape and biological concerns, we felt the need for a pull back in certain areas of the state. Doe days were the best choice, according to hunters we surveyed to reduce harvest pressure at this time. We do not plan on keeping doe days permanently, but instead are working on more area specific seasons and limits. We appreciate your comments and wish you good luck this season.

A comment titled: Boat landing in response to a report titled: Pigeon boat landing

Sparky38, i have to agree with you, it is more upsetting watching someone get to the launch and that is when they get out their truck and start putting things in the boat and taking their good ol time doing it. I will also jump in front of them because they don't know how to act at a launch. If you need to do all the stuff to get your boat ready, do it before you pull up to the launch, then when you get there everything is ready and it is a go. I have seen a few fights at launches for the same stupid shit. The Berwick boat landing during hunting season is the worse. People want to pull up their boat just a little then clean it right there. People don't be so damn stupid. Pull out of the way then do your thing.

He already has a boat. It is a 16 ft buteau with a 25 merc on it. He not only loves to fish, but hunt and frogging. 1 month ago he caught 62 bull frogs all by himself. It was a great night for him, but it was more happy for me.

It isn't all the people that own these mud motors that are idiots. We wouldn't be right to ban all the mud motors from the area. People just have to learn how to use them. You cannot run around the area while people is hunting, that is the people that needs to get ticketed. Must southern know how to hunt. But some is just idiots. They're the people that have never been in a boat and say the need to get one of the mud motors. I have a lot of friends that own them, we have respect for others out there hunting. If look at it as if I was the one that was in the blind, would I want a idiot out there running around scaring my birds. NO. So you dummies that is out there doing it, sell your boat because you don't know what a boat is for and how it is used.

Hooked1, I cannot agree with you more, the only thing that is bad, is the multiply post on here for the same thing. Also after 2 months it needs to be deleted, if it is sold, that should be gone also. There is nothing wrong with all the junk on here, as someone said. One mans junk is another mans treasure.

The best thing is start the little off right by letting him catch them with his hands, that is the most fun for them. I started my son off at 6 catching with his hands. Remember the only reason why you're out there is to show the littles how to do things. I hold my sons lifevest on the back so he can reach down and catch them with his hands. Don't use the Q-beam it takes away one hand. Send me an e-mail and I can send you the procedures on how to build your own headlight. I have built 6. Will cost about $30 to build and it is a hardhat that attaches to a 12 volt battery. Awesome light.

A comment titled: Mud Motor in response to a report titled: want to hear good and bad about mud motors

The best thing to is go go drive one. I have the mudbuddy and love it. I have 300 hours of hard swamp running. Never had a problem but fuel system. I have friends that have the surface drive (junk), Gatortail (they love it), Pro-drive (they love it also). But it depends what you want to for. They best reverse out the is from pro-drive. But you can look at everyone's site and see what they have. The reason I picked mudbuddy was because on there site you cam see all the different types of motors he has. The guy is always improving his stock. If you want, call The Boat Dr in New Orleans.

That is a very far run. What you can do, is run some RG 6 (if you have it)from your receiver, 200 yards out and take a digital voltmeter and check the output of the coax. Put the meter to read DC voltage. Put the negitave (black lead) of the meter on the connector and the positive (red lead) of the meter on the center pin of the coax. If you get out 18 or higher voltages, it will be enough to run that far. But if you don't have the right voltage it will not power up the LNB. I have a extra receiver for a good price if you want it. The serial # or model # on the back is all you need to get it turned on.
