Hey guys, the Bayou Bucks DVD is now available at their website. www.bayoubucks.com
If you haven't heard, Bayou Bucks is a full length hunting video filmed entirely in Louisiana. I have seen bits and pieces of it and I think it's going to be awsome. Definetly something any LA hunter needs.
Check it out guys.
This is a new DVD from Bayou Bucks that features Louisiana ONLY hunting.
From the site:
"Journey across Louisiana and meet everyday folks who live to deer hunt, and who do it on their own terms: no paid hunts, no high-fenced hunts, and no commercialization. Bayou Bucks brings deer hunting back to its roots, by offering a realistic perspective of how it's still done in the Deep South - something all but forgotten in today's cluster of hunting videos."
It's supposed to start selling soon.
Here's the site
www.bayoubucks.com
They also have a hunting forum:
www.bayoubucks.com/forum
The forum just started up, but it's specific to hunting and looks like it will turn out to be a great place for information.
Check 'em out.
I think it's gonna be awsome.
Alright, I'm gonna be selling my current rifle (Browning A-bolt) to get a new one, (the A-bolt just ain't for me.) Now I have been looking at every brand out there and see things I like about all of them, but am leaning toward either a savage, remington, or ruger. Let me know what yall think of these, please consider value in your opinions. As for the type of rifle it will be a wood stocked bolt action in either .308 or 7mm-08. Any input on caliber and cartridge choice is good too.
Just wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas from the desert. I wish I could have been home for hunting season. Good luck to y'all for the remainder of the season, and enjoy the holidays.
Anybody Have any expierience with the Browning BOSS system? My new rifle comes equipped with it, and I just wanted to know if it was good, bad, or what. I don't really like it out there on my barrel, but I have yet to give it a try.
any input would be appreciated.
What is so special about short magnums? Do they really hold any advantages over their predecessors, and if they do they must also have some disadvantages. I know one disadvantage is that the steep neck on the casing can equal poor feed, which causes more jams.
I,m 18 years old and I am going to be buying my first deer rifle. I,m trying to decide what caliber to get. I,m specifically leaning toward a 7mm rem. mag. or a 7mm wsm. any input on these calibers or others would help me out alot.
Yup, me and my hunting party killed a couple of bucks with those spots on them in Red River WMA last season. A game warden said it was a rare disease, but the meat was perfectly fine....sure did taste fine. They kind of look and feel like warts. We had one that was covered in them, They were all over his neck, and a spike with 1 or 2 on his neck.
Yea, I don't think that's a bobcat. It's as big as the lady's hand. A bobcat that big would be what's called a cougar, and yes, they do exist in Lousiana.
nice deer dude
I'm still looking at that gun also, and last time I went to the remington website they still had it listed on their product page.
I wouldnt mind some good ol' Iron sights myself since i have had visibility problems before
Yeah i went and looked at the synthetic stainless one today, and although this is not the one im interested in i was impressed.
That's one of the thing's I don't like about the 7mm wsm, it's not ver popular compared to the .270wsm and the .300wsm so it's hard to find it.
I know for sure sako makes a 7mm wsm so i figure that tikka does to, but mabye they don't.
well, like i said on my other post, i have heard that they can have jamming problems, due to the fact that the casing is fatter than the rim on the back (they are not recommended for dangerous game due to this reason) and their so fat that magazines can't hold as many rounds. along with some other minor problems which i cant remember and probally arent true anyway.........I would still like one though, just mabye after they have been around for a little longer and I see how they perform.
Yeah, I have been thinking about the 7mm wsm, and have researched them plenty. I have heard some good...some bad. I think I'm going to go with the 7mm rem. mag. and mabye some time in the future try and find a .300 WSM. for larger game.
I got a small sense of sarcasm from your post, or have you actually tried that method (.50 cals/landmines) if you have how'd it work. Did you get any nice ones?
Deuche Bag
Yes....I know 1,200 dollars is a nice chunk of change, but I feel like I have to have this particular rifle or the world will come to an end
I know quite a bit about rifles, but i'm not so sure I know enough to order a custom gun. I didn't know I could get one in the 1,200 dollar range. This is the first rifle I'm buying with my own money and I plan on using it for a very long time to come, so I want a really good rifle, with out paying over 1,200 dollars for it.
beutiful deer, your patience paid of, so instead of a spike you got a wall hanger.
yea, I'm getting the Browning A-Bolt (M-1000 Eclipse Hunter w/ BOSS.)I really don't want the BOSS system, but the rifle doesn't come with out it.
Liberals live in a fantasy world; they live in a world where America is somehow ALWAYS the bad guy. It doesn't matter if our enemies saw our heads off with 6" long knives, or crash passenger jets into a building full of civilians; somehow, America did something wrong to deserve it. These idiots on the left need to wake up, these people want to kill them too, they want to kill all of us. They are the most intolerant and oppresive people on the face of the earth. The bad news is, they are growing very fast and we are steadily shrinking. They have 10 kids per family, we have 1 or 2. They don't even need to fight us, they can just sit back and wait until we go exstict.
As for the war, we need to cut the politically correct bull@!$#. Nobody ever won a war by being Mr.Nice guy. It doesn't suprise me that a lot of people in America are against the war, I truly believe that these people would be against any war for their country. they don't see America as anything worth fighting for...to them, this is just a place they happen to live, nothing more. I just graduated high school in '05 and I see where the problem starts, it's in our schools. Kids don't learn about our country's great history anymore; they don't learn of its heros, its forefathers, or its triumps. They learn that America's history is nothing but sexist, racist, oppresive, and destructive white men "stealing a continent." That's how they burn the American flag and "dummy" soldiers in Portland, Oregon dressed as terrorists. They hate this country. Kids come out of college as revolutionaries; ready to destroy our culture, religion, traditions, and history to make way for the new world order, One Nation Under The U.N.
Here is where I am puzzled, these liberals hate oppresion, sexism, religion, war, and racism. How then do they sympathize with the terrorists? don't the jihadists represent everything that they hate? ohh no, im sorry, they only hate those things when they apply to America and Europe. They rest of the world gets a free pass. As far as I am concerned the folks on the far left can go live in the middle east with all of those nice people.
Make sure your kids get a healthy dose of patriotism at home, because I promise you they aren't getting it in school. Make sure they know what all of our holidays and traditions mean. make sure they know just how special this country is, and how many have died to protect it.
We have to win this war
