Duck numbers have gotten better in Arkansas. Some days are better than other depending on the weather conditions cold weather has hit the mid west with freezing weather and snow fall duck numbers should increase so here's some of our pictures
It's been a slow start in Arkansas with the lack of water and colder weather it's been really dry up there. We've had some rain but not enough to hold a lot of ducks. Specklebelly or very plentiful. But the lack of ducks has put a lot of pressure on the specklebelly geese making them very wary birds Hopefully with the rain and some colder weather. The season will get better
Took some cliets out today 2 limits of redfish .I still have some days open for Fishing Duckmans Outfitters 985-414-4997

Louisana hunting was good Nov and Dec was better than Jan .I think after Late Dec we do not get a push of ducks anymore in LA . the south winds where better hunting once Jan came around so I'am very happy with the season dates as is Why would you wanna hunt in Feb it would only get worse .AR was very good and Dry if you had water you had lots of mallards and geese but it was like LA sometimes they where waiting on ducks from the North.MO had a ton of ducks this year that nevered migrated south . Va was awsome mallards and canada geese we was warm their the 1st week i was their and then it got really cold like 8 degrees with alot of snow .I also killed 3 banded birds this year .So see yall come september The Duckman

Still in VA and we got about 4 inches of white power today . Went try to duck hunt creek egdes where frozen solid around the blinds and just the middle of the creek was open lots of mallards and black ducks where there but we had no way to hind no boat blind and it was blizzard conditions with 25 to 30 mph winds so we choose to head in and wait and chase geese these afternoon .in the mean time these coon ass ant never seen this much snow in awhile so why not play in it!!! And it was FUN we scout after we shot our limit of geese we found some ducks on a pond that won't freeze tonight so we will be at it again the morning Here's a pics of today The Duckman
It Snowed about 2 inches here so we decided to hunt the stonewall blind on the creek we've hunted it before with good results . It was iced up pretty good we broke ice .we put out 2 dozen GHG Pro grade mallards and a few GHS canada geese clear cold morning 5 to 10 wind out of the North we could hear the Mallards and Geese already . we had big groups of mallards working us but they would'nt finish right where killing only one or 2 out of them we drop a pair and the Drake was Banded then i shot at a canada goose and it was banded too back to back we ended the hunt early with 8 ducks and 2 geese we knock down 12 ducks and 4 geese .It's been pretty good up here The Duckman welcome to my Fowl Life

It was a beautiful cold south Louisiana morning north winds clear skies .After hunting the last few days low water and no ducks We wasn't expecting much .And it let up to it very few ducks period! These cold fronts have brought No ducks at all I hope it warms up and the south winds blow hard so i can kill some ducks Before i Head back norht again So here's todays kill
looking forward to it wont be long now
We have had 3 bad years of hatchlings on Grays so we are seeing the effects on them I truly believe our breeding counts are way down. And the lack of young ducks being killed up north with spinning wing decoys are playing in too effect. And the grays we did have where in certain area Mechanical decoys are one of the problems we are facing in Louisiana. Ducks are evolving and so should we Habit to north mild winters and flooding. These are just some of them. Louisiana is not the destination anymore We need to fix our problems with navigation waterways so we have more place to hunt and fix our habitat in our states as well as WMA
Seen a fair amount of blue wings and grays in the marshes south of Houma seems every pothole had some ducks getting up looks like the teal showed up
I had a nice talk with him yesterday evening good things too so looking forward too it. Mandville then ice eaters ant holding all your mallards up there. Twin rivers and lakes to do that
Scott
It was a great my friend didnââ¬â¢t hunt ducks as much this year focused on the specklebelly and had a hell of Years
Best specklebelly season yet to date. Hunted them for 63 days and we harvested 1643 specklebelly
It seems we all have different opinion on migration and season dates.
Do like me headed north ever year. And you know what I Kill Every season I hunt the marsh early and then hit the road looking for ducks and geese up north in land of corn and honey Oklahoma goons be my place next year central flyway 5 mallards limit. Dry fields thousands of mallards reminds me the old days back In the swamp of the 80,90. Guys hunt hard and stay safe go where the ducks are donââ¬â¢t wait for them cause they ant coming no more
I for one would never want a season that late On ducks. To many things could happen to the population. And plus the migration is over in February most of the ducks are here by then
Mike
So when do you think Louisiana should close itââ¬â¢s season. The coastal zones or the old west used to close at the end of the month. But surveys say more ducks are killed on the half of the season so they change I for one like the earlier season for the Marsh Missouri is closed Arkansas close this weekend
Most people that hunt the coast like a earlier season than those in the northern part of the state strong cold fronts push the water out of the marsh 14 days where lost this season cause of low water conditions
Iââ¬â¢ve been blessed to hunt and grow up in this state I miss killing mallards in the swamps in the 80s and early 90s I am all for this ! but ice eaters and corn fields are not our problem I have my opinion on why. Our duck hunting has gone to nothing I hope one day it comes back until then I chase ducks in the Northern states to relive my memories of how Louisiana once was
Awesome man
I really donââ¬â¢t think feeding would fix our problems. Our habitat is gone For ever. I seen it the last 20 years we are getting less and less ducks in southeast Louisiana. And the hunting in the rice fields of southwest Louisiana isnââ¬â¢t much better Iââ¬â¢ve started hunting in Arkansas 15 years ago because out hunting was going down hill fast And it was awesome for awhile but the last few years have been slower. Arkansas is seeing less and less ducks too mallard numbers are high but we are not harvesting them in numbers we once did gadwalls or gray ducks or becoming plentiful up there we kill 50/50 now mallards and grays Now the goose hunting has gotten better and better. Specklebelly numbers have sky rocketed in and around Stuttgart Arkansas. So yes we are still killing good numbers off ducks mallards expecialy Snow geese are eating most of the grain before the ducks get here. Farmers are putting water on there fields later to try to keep the snow geese from roasting and eating everything before the ducks get here. We miss a lot of early ducks cause of the lack of water
