Anyone catching any catfish in des allemands? Thinking about trying my luck by the bridges in bayou des allemands haven't been yet this year.
A couple friends and I are toying around with the idea of building a camp in the marsh somewhere. Possibly Delicroix or Bayou Bienvenue, it seems growing up fishing the marsh these camps were everywhere now theyâre few and far between. Can one get a lease to do this anymore and if so what do the leases typically cost? We understand this would be a huge project, but itâs something we really want to do.
Thinking about trying delacroix out in the morning havent been in a while. I cant decide if I should head to Lake John/4 Horse area or Lake Batola/Pencil Canal. Any suggestions?
Im taking my uncle to Delacroix he hasnt caught a trout or redfish in over 30 years. I really want to put him on some fish. Anyone have any suggestions on where the reds might be hiding?
Im looking to take my 3 year old fishing tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone has been out to Sea Brook lately and caught any white trout. Im not looking to go to far or stay too long because he is so young and it is so hot out.
Does anyone have any experience with the Scoutguard SG580M trail cam or any other similar cameras? It sends live pics through texts and email. I was thinking about getting one to set up in front of a pig trap to save a few trips to check the trap.
Does anyone know of any apps for the iPhone that will score a deer from an uploaded trail cam pic? I know I can download buck score for my pc but I was looking for something for my phone.
Does anyone know if the white trout are running by the bridge in grand isle?
Has anyone been catching any shrimp around Bayou Bienvenue? Went fishing there Sunday caught 25 trout in the marsh.
Wheres all the Delacroix reports? Has anyone been lately? I heard the waters been really dirty can anyone confirm this?
Looking for a place in GI to rent for 3-4 days some time in June. Somewhere I can leave the boat in the water. Not looking to spend a ridiculous amount.
Thanks
My buddy shot a good buck at my place with a 7mm wsm @ 225 yards. He was using Fedearl Premium Nosler Ballistic Tips 140 grain. The deer was every bit of 220lbs. We found blood, a small peice of meat, and a 3 inch long half inch wide chunk of bone. We followed a decent blood trail and jumped the deer he was bleeding pretty good on the upper shoulder on the entrance side of the wound. We continued to follow the blood trail until it ended in a swamp we never found the deer. Given that we seen the deer bleeding from the shoulder where he hit and the fact that we found bone and meat do you think it's possible that the bullet exploded on impact with the shoulder bone. Whats everyones opinion, do you think this is possible? Has anyone else experienced anything like this with the ballistic tips?
Just got back from a scouting trip down in Venice. Rode around Baptiste Collette area specifically Emeline and Kimbel Pass, saw very few ducks. We seen a few pintails and a handful of grays given the amount of birds seen it don't look like it's worth my time for opening day. We switched to plan B Main Pass and let me tell you the birds were every where, should be easy limits come Saturday for anyone hunting the area. Good luck and be careful to everyone out there this weekend.
A buddy of mine caught this flounder today in Venice the bottom side was brown the only white on the fish was the bottom side of the head. Has anyone ever seen this before?
Has anyone been out to Delacroix lately? I haven't seen any reports recently and was wondering if anyone is catching any fish? I went about 2 weeks ago caught 2 limits of reds and a handfull of trout in Lake John.
Made a trip Tuesday to Delacroix went straight to Lake Campo and found a few birds diving all small fish moved around a bit more and only managed 8 keepers all day. Talked to a few other people and everyone seemed to do about the same. Is anyone else having better luck?
Thinking about heading to Delacroix in the morning. I haven't heard any reports lately, and was wondering if the fish are still biting? Last trip was a few weeks ago we caught a few reds in the Lake John area. Is anyone catching trout under the birds in the exterior bays or even in any of the interior bays?
Went to bayou gauche sat fished some dead end canals w/shiners did not get a bite. Also fished a couple of my catfish holes got 2 bites on ert worms. We did not catch one fish. Has anyone had any luck lately around bayou gauche, lake des allemands, or even bayou/lake boeuf? May go try again this weekend will post good or bad
Has anyone been catching any catfish in or around Lake Des Allemands or the Bayou Gauche area yet or is it still to early? Looking to make the first trip of the year.
I doubt you were dealing with Jack or Cindy. that just doesnt sound like them.. I had a very similar thing happen to me at Serignes. We pulled up to the launch one morning and realized between all of us we only had about $8 cash on us the guy working there asked what was wrong we explained our situation and asked if we could just pay the $8 to launch and not worry about live bait. He said just give me what you have the $8 covered the launch and 50 live shrimp. I've had some bad experiences at Serignes and have heard some bad stories, but in the past few years ive experienced nothing but great customer service including at Sweetwater.
nice catch! what areas did you fish?
Big Congrats on a job well done!!
Hey Mikee thanks for the help the other day.
I dont think you can upload a trail cam pic on there and score it. Am I wrong?
I have some property in Concordia Parish and have been seeing a few yearlings with spots on them still have you noticed this in your area as well? We have also been seeing a TON of does as well. From reading your reports it seems our properties have a lot in common would love to compare notes.
We had a tough day as well. Fished from 8:30-12:30 only came home with 16 trout and caught probably 20 throw backs. Fished little lake, lake batola, point fenne, and skippy. We caught fish at every spot just not very many.
It looks a lil bigger than 120 to me. I killed the deer in the attached pic he scored 117 and some change. Your looks a little bigger in my opinion
A few years back I was at the ER in Natchez with a friend. I walked out the door and was standing on the elevated parking lot I looked down and there were 4 deer feeding two small bucks in full velvet and a doe and a yearling. Last year there was a dead doe on side the road in front of the Wal Mart in Vidalia.
I've caught plenty of trout mixed in with reds in the Delacroix marsh on the Mann's Baby 1-minus. In my opinion the Baby 1-minus is the best redfish bait there is for the marsh.
I just did a little more internet research and everything I found says it's not a WMA anymore.
I know there is 500 acres of land for sale that borders it and according to the map part of the property is the wma. I was confused when I saw it may be privatly owned now.
Trips like that is why I never go on any guided trips the several fishing and hunting guided trips I've been on have all turned out similar to your story.
I'm headed there this weekend I can let you know how we do. From what I heard all there catching is catfish on yo yos
If you subscribe to louisiana sportsman magazine the April 2010 issue had an artical titled Venice top 10 spring hot spots could help????
I hunt in Concordia parish were having the same problems with our fields.
