Had a great family day on the water minus my two baby girls. My son and his cousins got all they could handle on the big reds today. We caught a few trout then hooked up on triple redfish at our first stop. We had about a dozen shake the hook at the boat, but the smiles on their face told me they didn’t care! Late start due to a front passing through. Battled 30 mph winds with Sandy and Fred from Mobile, Alabama. They put a good mess together to salvage the day. Brutal conditions but we all had fun!! Had Clint and Jacob out for a tough day once the wind picked up. We grinded the day out and caught a mess at the last stop. These guys had a blast catching fish, plus 20 throwbacks kept it interesting. All Clint was after was a nice slot red and he got his wish! Matrix shad glow and ultraviolet accounted for all the fish. We tipped them with shrimp under a 4horsemen cork for the reds and drum. One of these days Mother Nature will get her act together! Thanks Capt. Lloyd Landry for setting these guys up with me!

I had Scott Moise and his two sons with me today. The rain gods held out long enough to put a load of trout on ice then switch to redfish. We went in the marsh and put 6 reds on ice before the storms ran us in. Slow and steady retrieve for the trout on double rigged matrix shad in avocado and shrimp creole. Trailered down to Cocodrie to scout for the weekend’s events. Started out with live shrimp on a sliding cork but ended up catching majority on double rigged matrix shad. Lemonhead and shrimp creole worked best for me.

I had Jesse, Kevin, and Mike on board for another day of rodeo fishing. The guys caught a few trout then decided they wanted a couple of redfish. We had a lot of action with the redfish but they were undersized. We boated and released over 30 redfish in a couple of hours. Live shrimp under a 4 Horsemen cork accounted for all of the fish. I had Ron Bello and crew on board. The guys wanted trout and after the lights out bite we had on the previous day, we knew we would smack the trout. Mother Nature threw us a curve ball and we found ourselves picking most of the day to work up to a great box of fish. The past week of fishing has been decent with good boxes of speckled trout on fair weather days. The. It has been inconsisten, with some days having awesome bites and others picking all day to make the box. We had to use live shrimp a couple days, as the fish were not responding well to the plastic.

I had Dustin and his dad Mickey for the first night trip of the year. We never could get the light switch to turn on, as what usually happens at night. We did lay into all solid fish which made up for some of the numbers. Thanks Marty Lacoste for setting these guys up with me. They had a great time and enjoyed the experience of fishing at night!

I spent Sunday fishing with the family for some redfishing. When we finally got on an every cast bite, a massive storm was approaching so we called it a day mid morning. The kids were pumped just to be out and about!

I had my random scouting trip for the week. I usually to to random places I have never fished. I was able to smack some trout around on matrix shad shrimp creole under a 4 horsemen tackle cork.

Mid week I had Mr. Art for 2 days. All 4 of these guys were some veteran fishermen, so we had no problem catching the fish! We found a protected point and caught over 50 fish on one point plus more bouncing around. Day 2 with them was a little different. We tried our same game plan with live shrimp and it backfired. We only caught 10 fish in our same area. We changed zip codes and arrived to a rockstar plastic bite. Double rigged matrix shad and matrix shad under a 4 horseman cork did the job. We caught over 50 fish in about 20-30 minutes and then it shut off. Thanks Capt. Marty LaCoste for setting these guys up with me.

I had new customers Carl and Sandy Kramer on board for some speckled trout action. We got ran in by some storms mid morning but we still managed to put a nice box together. We stopped for a few redfish in an area that had clear weather at the time. We caught a few reds some drum and a bay snapper and then called it a day before the skies unleashed their fury.
