Late reports from Long weekend in Hopedale.
Thursday I had the pleasure of fishing with my Baton Rouge crew Doo, Sara, Brandon Emily. running from the weather they still managed to put a nice box of fish together. 50 trout, 16 reds, drum and sheepheads.
Friday despite the bad weather I had the pleasure of fishing with my Livingston crew Amy Marty and his nephew. The day started with light rain but within a hour the weather took over and had to run into the march for reds. Total for the day was 9 reds, a handful of trout and drum.
Saturday I helped cover for Capt. Kyle and his Bachlor party. very bad weather has us running all day, but the guys held up and would not give up. finished the day limiting out on reds(15, 20 trout, 2 drums, and 2 flounder. despite the weather all had a great time.
Sunday I had the pleasure of fishing with my crew from west Louisiana. they wanted trout and trout they got. All 3 men limited out on trout with the addition of Bull reds. All had a really great time and fun.

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with the Britt and the Whitney Bank crew. With the weather brewing we took a chance and headed to the outside anyway. It was a tough start but after a few moves we managed to get on a trout bite. Finished the trout bite with 49 nice trout and then headed inside to finish the day off with 3 solid reds, 1 door mat flounder and 2 puppy drum. Today I had the pleasure of fishing for Capt. Mark with his Zachary group. We headed straight to Black Bay for some Trout action. After bouncing around on the way out our First stop nothing. Second stop 2 nice trout. Next we moved to one of my favorite spots and within minutes the bite was on. When all was said and done 89 trout in the box and on our way to the dock. Today I had the pleasure of fishing for Capt. Mark with his Zachary group. We headed straight to Black Bay for some Trout action. Passing Stone island and Compressor it looked like Mardi-Gras day with all the boats. We proceeded to next stop and from first cast it was TROUT after TROUT!!!! Put 49 Nice trout in the box and then proceeded to the west for some redfish action. First stop yielded 2 REDS and a door mat FLOUNDER. Second stop and it was on!!!! In just a few minutes 14 more reds were in the box and we headed to the dock for some shade and refreshments. All were caught on CampoâÂÂs shrimp. Black Bay and Hopedale marsh is in full swing. Capt. Sal Fontana Jr. took my place as after 6 days of the brutal heat was getting rough. Today he had the pleasure of fishing with Jerry and the 3 young anglers he was treating to a fishing experience. As we hit the Bay it was too rough to continue outward so westward we went. First stop and it proved to be a good choice. Limited out on redfish by 9:45 am and started working on some trout. After a few moves managed to finish the day with 21 reds, 4 Trout and 1 drum. For the second day in a row Capt. Sal Fontana Jr. took my place and also limited out on REDFISH by 10:30 a.m. With the winds blowing stronger than the previous day it was straight to the marsh for redfish. First stop 2 reds one after another and then completely nothing. Ran to a second stop and Jerry and his 3 young anglers was treated to fast and Furious Redfish action from the first cast. Within the next hour 25 REDFISH were in the box and it was now time to play. Made one more stop and put 2 flounder in the box and then headed to the dock for some relief from the heat. After 3 days off I had Capt. Sal Fontana Jr. took my place and fight the winds on Friday. He had the pleasure of fishing with Andy and his sons. After 2 attempts at Trout in the Bay the wind WON!!! Headed straight to the Marsh and started busting the REDS!!! Within the next 2 hours all 5 people were limited out with 25 reds. Made a 2nd stop and managed to put 17 trout and 1 flounder in the boat before heading to the dock. Despite the high winds all still had a fun and productive day. Saturday I had the pleasure of fishing with Greg and his crew from Baton Rouge and Alabama. With the winds not that bad we headed to the Bay for some TROUT action. 1 stop and it was on. Trout after Trout for the next 2 hours, with 1 keeper for every 5 throw backs. After we boated 52 trout we headed further out in the Bay in search for some Monster Trout. After 3 stops and nothing but sharks we headed in for some RED action. Made 1 stop and managed to Limit out on REDS (15) and 4 drum before we headed to the Dock. Redfish Action!!!!!!!!
Sunday I again had Greg and his crew from Baton Rouge and Alabama. With the winds and bad weather threating they decided to stay close for some more Redfish action. After a short run we made our first stop. BAM!!! Redfish after Redfish along with a good mixture of Drums. THEN the weather took a turn for the worst. After returning to the dock for almost 2 hours the rain reseeded and we headed back to the redfish action. Within the next hour they managed to finish their Redfish limit.
