Red Stag deer is one of the largest deer species which naturally inhabit most of Europe, parts of Asia, and northwest Africa. Red Deer were introduced into Australia and New Zealand with great results and Long Branch is trying to achieve similar results in the USA.
Red Deer venison is considered to be best tasting venison, rich in flavor and low in fat. Red Deer is typically the meat utilized by supermarkets and most restaurants with venison on the menu.
Hinds (female) can weigh up to 200 lbs, and Stags (male) can weigh 250 to 600 bs.
