Hurricane Ida did no damage to the fishing in Leeville. I fished Friday morning with guys from texas & they had a ball. We had our limit of reds by lunch. Trout & drum to boot.

Bayou Lafourche. While the recent reports have been slow fishing at best, the warming trend this week is what the doctor ordered. Big Drum & redfish have started to show up on the shell banks in Leeville. Fish from Bobby Lynn's Marina north of the bridge to the Chevron heliport south of the bridge. You want to fish slow to a dead stop on the bottom with dead shrimp or a live cockahoe. The bite is slow, so be patient. This pattern has produced regularly this week & the catch has been redfish, Bull drum & a few trout mixed in. With the weather starting to change, the fish will start to finally move some.
Fisherman fishing out of Bobby Lynn's Marina caught limits of reds & several trout today. The pattern is to fish the deeper canals on the oyster reefs or clam shell banks. Fish on the bottom with live minnows or dark plastics slow. With the water warming up things are getting ready to explode.
Capt. Bobby Gros
Great reports came in today from the barrier islands. Lots of bull reds and some trout on the outside. No trout caught inside the islands though. Still best bet for trout are in the deeper canals along the oyster reefs on the bottom.
These fish with the rest of their limit of Reds were caught out of Bobby Lynn's Marina Thursday afternoon. Mr Heath Savant of Baton Rouge landed his 1st. 6# Speckled trout fishing the marsh in Leeville. He caught it on a live minnow rigged under the new H&H cork.

THE INSIDE WATERS FROM THE MOUTH OF THE RIVER TO POINT AU FER ARE STILL OPEN & HAVE PLENTY OF TROUT & REDFISH. It is only the beach outward that is currently affected. This is a precautionary move to keep anything out of the marshes.Don't cancel your weekend plans & charter trips, you will still be able to fish & the fish are not affected. Pitiful reporting has caused a panic that is not there at this time.
